"Had a fantastic stay in Dali! The hotel's location is perfect, right outside the main entrance of the ancient city, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. It's a quiet oasis despite being so central. The room was clean, tidy, and soundproof, so I slept really well. The staff were attentive and thoughtful, even giving me a complimentary flower cake when I checked out – such a lovely touch! I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Dali."

"A truly perfect trip!
Here, I enjoyed sunny weather, stunning Erhai Lake views, and a fantastic large balcony. The room layout, including the full-length mirror, was exceptionally beautiful. What sets this hotel apart from others in Ideal State is its deep commitment to the Santorini, Greece-style design. While some other places might only have an exterior that fits the theme, with very ordinary interiors, this hotel extends that Greek Santorini vibe to both its facade and inside the rooms. You can even watch the sunset from bed! And the next morning, with a bit of luck, I captured some amazing 'blue hour' photos. The butler and hotel service were incredibly attentive; basically, anything I needed, the butler would take care of. The afternoon tea, with ginger-syrup drizzled waffles and other delicious treats, was also perfectly to my liking.
Actually, I fell in love with this room when I first saw the hotel six months ago (yes, I even preferred it over others with pools!). So, I saved up and finally came today, half a year later. What can I say? I feel incredibly lucky. The weather forecast had predicted cloudy and rainy days for Dali, but the moment I arrived, it cleared up and stayed sunny until I checked out. Plus, it wasn't too crowded when I visited (it might be peak season later on).
In short, I highly recommend it! If you're planning a trip to Ideal State, definitely come to this hotel and stay in this room!"

"After 'escaping' from a so-called 1200 RMB seaview hotel in Dali's Shuanglang Ancient Town, I didn't have high expectations for this 500+ RMB hotel, only hoping it would be clean. To my surprise, this was the cheapest hotel I stayed at from Lijiang to Dali, yet it offered the best service and quality. I was so touched, it almost brought tears to my eyes, no exaggeration! Before we even arrived, two lovely young ladies helped us with our luggage. When I mentioned I didn't want a ground floor room, they immediately upgraded us to a room with a large jacuzzi tub. The room was a generous 50 square meters, perfectly clean and tidy. The bedding was soft and comfortable, the entire room was smart-enabled, and it even had a Dyson hairdryer, Kohler smart bathroom fixtures, and a Marshall speaker. This setup deeply impressed me, a hotel industry veteran of 16 years.
What also really surprised me was the incredibly thoughtful and genuine service. Any small issues we had during our stay were resolved wonderfully. Finally, I'm so grateful the hotel provided a transfer to Dali High-Speed Rail Station. I'm truly thankful for the team's dedication. What a fantastic team! The boss should definitely give them a bonus!"

"The hotel is spotless and incredibly quiet and comfortable. The service was absolutely outstanding! Every staff member was dedicated and super friendly to guests. My child experienced altitude sickness for the first time in Yunnan, and the hotel immediately provided oxygen and even offered to accompany us to the doctor. The breakfast was delicious, and room service was very efficient. I highly, highly recommend this place. Before we left, they even gave a small gift to my child. "After exploring much of Yunnan, arriving at this B&B in Dali felt like discovering the most meticulously designed place of my entire trip. I had initially shortlisted a few B&Bs online, but ultimately chose to stay within the ancient city rather than by the sea, primarily drawn by its charming courtyard and duplex rooms. To my delight, it exceeded my expectations. The courtyard, though compact, was incredibly serene, and the decor was very tasteful. All the amenities provided were of premium quality. We booked two rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. The upstairs room even featured a specially installed electric blind for stargazing. It was evident that the entire B&B had been thoughtfully designed with attention to every detail. The selection of food and beverages provided was also excellent, and they even delivered sweet soup to our rooms in the evening. The breakfast spread was very generous, offering both Chinese and Western options – a definite highlight. However, the taste of the morning rice noodles and Ersi could be improved."

"This is by far the most comfortable hotel I've stayed at in Dali. It's designed with a beautiful garden aesthetic, and the air is just amazing. The whole hotel feels like a grand estate. The staff are so warm and attentive. The facilities are incredibly comprehensive: a book bar, a regular bar, a sports hall, a restaurant, and a gym (with tons of equipment, which I, as someone who works out daily, absolutely loved!). What I want to praise most about the room is the incredibly spacious shower area, with excellent wet/dry separation. I really love this room type. The breakfast selection is rich and varied, and they even have卡通餐盘 (cartoon-themed plates) – so thoughtful for families traveling with children!"

"After a long search online, I finally settled on Dali Luchun Garden Hotel. It's incredibly convenient to get to, with taxis dropping you right at the entrance. The moment our car pulled up, a staff member immediately rushed out to help with our luggage and guide us to check-in. Hot tea and warm towels followed shortly, making us feel incredibly welcomed and at home!
During our two-night stay, our personal concierge, Chu Yi, was fantastic. She brought us bedtime milk promptly every evening and provided helpful weather updates and tips each morning. She was always quick to respond to any requests. The breakfast selection was extensive and varied each day. The mushroom soup rice noodles were delicious and unique, and there was a wide array of fresh fruit, which was a lovely touch. I honestly can't recommend this place enough!"

"Very close to the airport, and I could see Erhai Lake right from my bed. The nearby golf course was also beautiful.

It's super convenient for exploring the lake during the day, and nice and quiet at night. We stayed for two nights with my family, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The cleanliness and facilities were all good. They even provided complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, a fruit platter, and sweet soup. To top it off, we received a small gift upon check-out – overall, a fantastic stay!
The only minor improvement needed is the design of the sink in the room; water tends to splash out onto the counter, whether the faucet is on full or low.

Iiris_yy123I used to stay at Anlan in Sanya frequently, and that's when I fell in love with the brand. This time, I decisively booked again, and overall, I'm extremely satisfied!
Anlan pays great attention to detail, including airport pick-up and drop-off. The butler will contact you via WeChat in advance. Both the hotel's breakfast and afternoon tea were excellent, showing a lot of care! The hotel has been renovated with wood, so soundproofing isn't the best, but they thoughtfully provide earplugs. The all-female service team is outstanding; they always greet you warmly when you go out, which is very comforting!
They provide children's toothpaste, toothbrushes, and slippers. The 'comfort kit' in the room is super practical and I'm still using the items I took home. I don't know what brand the bedding in the room is, but it's incredibly comfortable!! Even my child was super happy with it!!
The only thing that needs improvement is the hotel room's TV. It's too old, has poor clarity, and is incredibly slow to respond. Screen mirroring often freezes, and it takes a good 10 minutes just to exit. I strongly recommend replacing it with a TV that matches the Anlan brand's quality!!!

AAramiRexWe stayed here from 12–15 May during our honeymoon and decided to do our Yunnan trip entirely on our own. Dali was our first destination after landing in Kunming the night before, and it turned out to be the perfect start to our journey.
Since our train arrived early at around 9:00 AM, I contacted the host a few days in advance to ask if an early check-in would be possible. Not only were they happy to accommodate our request, but they also kindly offered to pick us up from the station. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our host, Mei, who gave us a tour of the property after check-in.
The hotel exceeded our expectations. The architecture is absolutely stunning, from the outside, it feels like staying in a beautiful traditional palace within the old town, while the interior is thoughtfully modernized with every comfort you could need. Our room was incredibly spacious, and we especially loved the heated bathroom floors and the bidet, which was a pleasant surprise. There is also a rooftop area where guests can enjoy a beautiful sunrise view.
Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. Guests are given several options, and parts of the menu change daily, which kept things interesting. What we looked forward to most every morning was the amazing yogurt served with homemade rose jam, it was honestly the best we've ever had. We mentioned how much we loved it, and at the end of our stay, Mei surprised us with a jar to take home. Such a thoughtful gesture!
Every evening, the hotel served a warm dessert, introducing us to flavors that were completely new yet delicious. We were also treated to a complimentary afternoon tea. To make our honeymoon even more special, Mei and her team surprised us with a personalized cake, which was incredibly touching.
The location is very convenient, with several Muslim-friendly eateries within a 10-minute walk, as well as convenience stores nearby.
What truly sets this place apart, however, is the hospitality. Out of all the accommodations we stayed at during our Yunnan trip, this was by far the best. Mei went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, constantly sharing recommendations, travel tips, and local insights to help us make the most of our time in Dali. We genuinely felt cared for throughout our stay.
I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for honeymooners and newlyweds looking for a memorable and heartfelt experience. InsyaAllah, we will definitely return on our future trips to Dali.

Thank you for the room upgrade, and thanks to the butler for their problem-solving skills, but providing an honest review is my right.
With such a fantastic location and breathtaking views, the interior design's aesthetic is truly disappointing. It has a 'fake sophistication' vibe, feeling cheap and网红 (internet-famous). My overall impression is that this place is great for photos, but not for living in.
Staying here was a mix of happiness and pain. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be 'fragmented'. It's like dealing with someone who's hot and cold – one moment you feel they're warm and considerate, the next you feel everything they say and do has an ulterior motive.
The bathtub, shower facilities, and toilet were all very good. The hairdryer was a Dyson, and even the disposable bathtub liner was quite thick. The shampoo and shower gel provided were also reputable brands, and the pillows were decent. But the decor is genuinely ugly – do you know that feeling when a stunning woman insists on wearing an 'auntie' hairstyle?
The food, however, is the biggest complaint. It's the worst guesthouse meal I've ever had in my life. The afternoon tea was generous in quantity but terrible in taste, and breakfast was the same – mostly a collection of frozen, pre-made items. There were even flies on the bread, and when I pointed it out to the staff, they didn't seem to care much.

GGuest UserThis hotel is completely let down by its long and terrible name, but that doesn't stop it from being a fantastic place. It's great value for money and absolutely perfect for families.
**Environment:** Beautiful! The grounds are huge and there's an amazing vegetable and fruit garden where you can pick blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries freely. They also have horses, and there's a wild pear tree right by the entrance. My kids spent two hours every morning picking pears, gathering vegetables, feeding the horses, and picking fruit to eat.
**Facilities:** The room was very spacious, and the sound system and hairdryer were excellent. The night light had a slight issue that needs fixing, though.
**Service:** Very prompt! My package included a car, and the minivan driver was on call whenever we needed him, even providing a car seat – super impressed! The dining service was also quite good, but it can be a bit slow when it's busy, which also impacts room service.
**Hygiene:** Absolutely meets the standards of a good five-star hotel.
I rarely leave reviews, but this hotel deserves to be known. Seriously, that name is just awful! Don't let the name make you miss out on this gem.

Xiaguan District is where the locals live in Dali, and it's incredibly convenient for food, drinks, and entertainment. Right downstairs from the hotel, there are all sorts of local specialty restaurants. The hotel's location is excellent, and the views are simply stunning; you open the door and Erhai Lake is right there. The breakfast selection is rich, with rice noodles and regular noodles available all day. Since my elderly parents prefer simple dinners, we often asked the hotel to stir-fry two vegetable dishes and prepare some rice vermicelli for us, and they always accommodated our requests without hesitation. The service is truly exceptional – the front desk young lady was gentle and warm-hearted, and the restaurant young lady was also incredibly kind and enthusiastic. Overall, among all the hotel staff I've encountered, everyone, from the airport pick-up to the front desk and even the maintenance staff, was patient and welcoming. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I have the chance; it's particularly well-suited for families and friends traveling together.

AAnonymous User1. **Check-in Area:** The check-in counter, or front desk, was quite shabby. The computer keyboard was practically caked in grime, and don't even get me started on the sofa next to it – it looked very unhygienic.
2. **Dining:** The breakfast area was a bit cramped, with just four small tables by the street. If you're a party of more than two, you'd have to sit separately, or you might even have to stand and wait for a table. The coffee, however, was good. I only had breakfast once: a cold quinoa salad (see Photo 6) served with bread that had an overpowering artificial creamer flavor. I had been looking forward to the rice noodles for the next day, but serving didn't start until 8:30 AM, which was far too late for my rumbling stomach. Early risers and those who prefer hot meals should seriously consider other options or make alternative arrangements.
3. **Room (2nd floor) - Noise Issues:** Don't even think about getting any sleep at night. After 11 PM, there was still noise along the street, along with the clanging of the garbage truck. (Seriously, I'd strongly advise against staying in the Old Town.) The next day, it started pouring before dawn, and the sound of the heavy rain kept me awake as well.
4. **Room - Facility Issues:** The room I stayed in was supposedly the quietest in the entire hotel. It featured a large bathtub and a bathroom where the toilet and shower area lacked wet/dry separation. Unable to deal with the wet floor, I decided to shower in the bathtub. That's when I discovered Problem #1: the glass partition was completely transparent, with no curtain or frosted glass. The staff member claimed this was 'design.' Then came Fatal Problem #2: the bathtub had no running water, haha! 😄
5. **Room - Odor Issues:** Upon entering, there was a strong musty smell. The staff claimed it was due to 'raw wood,' but it's been 8 years and it still smells like that? Quite amusing.
6. **Staff (Pre-Check-in):** Before I even checked in, they asked me to cancel my booking on the platform and pay them privately for a discounted rate. I have this in writing. This is definitely a huge red flag, and I'm surprised they even dared to suggest it.
7. **Staff (General):** The individuals themselves were nice enough, but I was surprised to find that all the 'Jixiashan' staff were quite young, without uniforms, and seemingly without direct supervision, which gave a very disorganized and casual impression.
8. **Housekeeping:** I was quite satisfied with the housekeeping. Seeing the clean duvet and towels gave me peace of mind (P.S. the pillows were also comfortable). The hotel's facilities are very old; no matter how clean the bathroom tiles were, they still looked run-down, compounded by the dim lighting. Therefore, I feel the housekeeping staff here really have a tough job.
9. **Building Structure:** One morning, during a heavy downpour, when I opened my 2nd-floor room door, the entrance was essentially flooded up to my heels. It was quite a feat that the water didn't spread into the room. At night, there were no lights, so I had to grope my way back to the room along the dark corridor. It would be quite difficult for someone who doesn't remember their way (see Photos 1-2).
10. **Hotel Amenities:** One night, I heard the guest next door return, unable to open their door with the key, and had to call a staff member for help. They chatted for a bit outside the door before the staff member finally told the guest a 'trick': 'The key needs to be inserted a certain way, and the lock has a particular mechanism...' That's quite a struggle – needing a special technique just to get back to your room!
11. **Minor Details:** The room key had a very large, bulky leather tag attached to it. Absolutely no consideration for travelers on long journeys with limited luggage space. Who would want to carry such a bulky thing around?
I originally had high hopes for the 'Jixiashan' brand. When I was in Shangri-La, I heard their Meili store had a collaboration with Kolon, which made me think they had good taste. This Dali Ancient City location is their first store, but it turned out to be such a low standard. Given the daily rate, I guess I understand why. This particular store cannot be found on 'Jixiashan's' mini-program; it's categorized under 'Wang Shenme Chuan Qu Le'.

The floor is too low, the window is quite small, you can only see corals and small bottom-dwelling fish. Photos turn out very ordinary, and the experience is poor.
✅ Go for the 2nd floor first! Best value for money overall!
The price is moderate, the viewing window is super large, and the view is expansive. You’ll get great photos effortlessly. Call the front desk in advance to reserve a room with a good view. We stayed in room 8220, and the view was quite good.

The view isn't significantly different from the 2nd floor. If you're looking for value, just go for the second floor.

So I didn't have high expectations this time, but wow, was I surprised! Could a homestay actually look as good as its pictures? Was the 'butler service' more than just a slogan? And could a room really be this beautiful without a wide-angle lens? This time, I truly experienced it all. If I had to nitpick, I'd suggest the host add a few more hooks in the room.
