"I chose a king room on a high floor, and was absolutely blown away when I opened the window – the Lujiazui 'Three-Piece Suit' (iconic skyscrapers) was right in my line of sight! At night, I could lie in bed and watch the lights of the Shanghai Tower twinkle on; the ambiance was just incredible. The room felt much larger than I expected, over 35 sqm. The light wood tones paired with Morandi colors and hidden light strips created a clean, comfortable feel, completely devoid of the usual business hotel stuffiness. The bedding was so soft; once I lay down, I didn't want to get up. For business travelers and tourists alike, a comfortable stay is truly paramount. The bathroom featured a dry and wet separation, with the toilet, shower area, and vanity completely separate and spotlessly clean, which made it very reassuring to use. It's about a 10-minute walk to Beiyangjing Road Station on Metro Line 6, and only 5 minutes to LCM Xuhui Plaza. Getting to the core area of Lujiazui and Century Avenue is very quick, and there are plenty of bus routes nearby. Downstairs, there's a convenience store and snack shops, so finding a late-night bite is no problem. It's also not far from Yaohan and 96 Square, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient."

"This is an eager five-star review, starting with a special shout-out to Bernie and Grace at the Executive Lounge for their exceptional help and superb coffee! All the other staff were also very nice, and the desserts by the plump chef at breakfast were incredibly amazing. It was a perfect travel experience, full marks. Now for the specifics. From the check-in date, the experience was top-notch. For my 4-day trip, the front desk offered a room upgrade at the minimum extra cost, allowing my whole family to enjoy a full river view plus executive benefits throughout our stay. The rooftop swimming pool was fantastic; the water quality was perfect, and swimming naked at night didn't feel uncomfortable at all. My baby practically lived in the pool and executive lounge for several days. The breakfast was more Western-style, with unbeatable desserts. The ice cream and donuts were outstanding. The Executive Lounge is on the 28th floor, and lunch is à la carte. I highly recommend the foie gras and wagyu burger – absolutely fantastic. The beef was cooked to perfection, and the tenderness of the foie gras and beef complemented each other beautifully. For afternoon tea, there were various coffee options, and the cappuccino and iced latte I tried were both excellent. The light dinner in the evening was more than sufficient for a traveler; the creamy mushroom chicken stew, grilled sausages, and curry beef left a very deep impression. Finally, let's talk about the room and hotel environment. Kempinski perfectly replicated the essence of classic elegance. While the room facilities might seem a bit dated, the hotel redefined luxury with its tangible comfort. The room temperature was always just right, and the experience with personal garments, towels, and bedding made you unconsciously indulge in the luxury. Even the blankets by the pool were warm, truly embodying the idea of 'warm service.' Lastly, to pick a bone, I'll offer some limited suggestions as a guest: Firstly, with the economic downturn, family travel will gradually become mainstream. Breakfast could add some kid-friendly items like smiley potato fries, ketchup, and bolognese pasta, which wouldn't significantly increase costs. Secondly, the glass needs cleaning, especially the panoramic glass at the pool, as it affects the view. I can't come up with a third point because the experience was truly excellent. I hope they continue their efforts. As a long-established luxury hotel in the 'center of the universe,' it needs to uphold not only its style and culture but also persistent passion and warmth. I will definitely visit again. (The ice cream wasn't replenished; it was photographed after closing, which shows how popular it is!)"

"This hotel is located in the ICBC building, and the service is exceptionally good; they even deliver takeout right to your room. The hotel's location is on the south side of the Bund, with a pier right outside. It's very close to Nanjing East Road, about two bus stops away. We stayed in a king room where we could see both the Oriental Pearl Tower and the 'Bund International Architecture Exhibition' (the historical buildings). You can see the 'Shanghai Three-Piece Suit' (iconic skyscrapers) right from the hotel. When there's a crowd, watching the lights turn on from the hotel room is spectacular. Ordering food from nearby is very convenient; you can get all sorts of takeout. So, ordering takeout and eating in your room at this hotel is a fantastic experience."

Pullman Shanghai Central is reducing the reliance on single-use plastics in their toiletries.

"I came to Shanghai for a boring May Day holiday and booked a Pullman suite. The hotel was very busy, which really tested their reception capacity. Accor Pullman in France is pretty good, with a nice design, and the aromatherapy scent is the same as in Hong Kong. Facilities: Higher floor rooms would be better; try to choose a high-floor room to avoid the smell of mugwort from downstairs. Transportation: Downstairs are Sun & Moon Light, Tianzifang, and the subway, so coming directly is very convenient for city work. 24th Floor Executive Lounge Supreme Experience: The executive lounge is great, with high-altitude views. Dining: Both breakfast and the executive lounge are good, but there are too many foreigners – mostly Koreans and Westerners. The noodle chef even paused for a moment when he heard me speak Chinese, and then switched his language system. Koreans were coolly showing off watermelon, taking five plates at a time."

"Considering the sheer crowds at major attractions across the country during the May 1st holiday, we decided to take it easy in Shanghai. We chose the InterContinental National Exhibition and Convention Center as our base for two days of dining and entertainment, largely because its holiday rates were surprisingly affordable (unlike other hotels, this InterContinental tends to be incredibly cheap during holidays!). Compared to the bustling crowds during exhibition periods, this InterContinental offered a welcome tranquility. Like all InterContinentals, the lobby was grand and impressive, and the service was exactly what you'd expect from the brand. The room was clean and well-arranged. The breakfast buffet was upscale, and the dinner was a lobster-themed buffet – absolutely delicious! For lunch, we drove to Hongqiao Tiandi, which felt very convenient!"

CCarol Lim KHStayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong for one night, and it was truly a memorable experience. We were two female travelers and booked a Skyline View Twin Room. The room was spacious, elegant, and beautifully designed, with a modern yet luxurious feel. The highlight was definitely the stunning skyline view—especially at night, the city lights created a breathtaking atmosphere right from the comfort of our room. It was a perfect setting to relax and unwind. The beds were extremely comfortable, with high-quality linens that ensured a restful sleep. The room was impeccably clean, and every detail reflected the hotel’s high standards. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a well-designed layout, a strong shower, and a generous bathtub, making the overall experience even more enjoyable. The service was exceptional, as expected from a Ritz-Carlton property. The staff were professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. The location in Pudong is very convenient, with easy access to shopping malls, restaurants, and key attractions. It is an excellent choice for both leisure and business travelers. Overall, this hotel offers a perfect combination of luxury, comfort, and service. It was a wonderful stay, and I would definitely return in the future.

SSt.CheIt’s a great hotel for a couple nights’ stay. Although it feels somewhat dated (it really shows in such a hi-tech city as Shanghai) and the public spaces are cramped (the gym gives claustrophobic vibes when there are more than 5 people in it), especially considering the size of the building and number of rooms - it may suit well for a conservative traveller, or if you have to stay in this particular area, or simply if you enjoy being among European/South American tourists (I got an impression that locals don’t stay here). In a nutshell, the location is unbeatable, the breakfasts were good (half of dishes were westernized), staff speaks English and is helpful, the view from my room was breathtaking, nights were quiet. Some fresh towels were still stained, tho. Not good.

GGuest UserThe Peninsula Shanghai, nestled by the Waibaidu Bridge, the Monument to the People's Heroes, and the Bund, might not be described as 'convenient' in the traditional sense, but I found its location perfect for soaking in the unique Shanghainese vibe! The service here is wonderfully old-school and distinctively 'Shanghai' – unhurried yet efficient, demonstrating a clear and deep understanding of guest needs. The rooms are classic Peninsula style, with well-defined functional areas, superb soundproofing, and impeccable cleanliness and maintenance, putting my mind completely at ease. The dining experience was a genuine delight; both breakfast and the Cantonese restaurant in the evening were so memorable. I particularly loved the evening bath ritual – pressing the SPA button and immersing myself in the tranquil, ethereal music, it felt like I was back in a cozy island retreat! My two-day Peninsula experience was a solid 12 out of 10. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to truly experience its unique charm!

IImyyjmI stayed in the Panorama Bund Retreat King Bed Room with Oriental Pearl Tower View. The panoramic views are unbelievably beautiful and can be enjoyed both from the room and the large bathtub. The window stretches almost the entire width of the room, with a large sofa beside it that allows you to sit comfortably and fully appreciate the skyline. The bed was incredibly spacious and comfortable, and the staff even brought scented oils to help with relaxation and sleep, which was a lovely touch. I must have arrived during a particularly busy period because the restaurant was always crowded and there was usually a queue for breakfast. However, on one occasion I was offered a takeaway breakfast box instead as I was in a hurry. As I do not have a Chinese phone number, I had difficulty ordering food from outside the hotel. Since the hotel had no halal and vegetarian options aside from one pasta dish, a member of staff kindly used their own phone to help me place an order and allowed me to reimburse them through Alipay. I thought this was incredibly thoughtful and helpful service. Even spending time in the hotel lobby felt relaxing, as the pink cherry blossoms outside the windows created such a beautiful atmosphere. The spa treatments were excellent and deeply relaxing. Lisa was fantastic and made the entire experience feel comfortable and welcoming. The in-room amenities were also wonderful! I loved the fragrance of the body lotion so much that I bought one from the spa before leaving. This has become one of my favourite hotels, and I already can’t wait to return.

GGuest UserVery satisfied with this hotel! The location is superb, really close to the subway station, and the view of the river and the Oriental Pearl Tower is fantastic. There are also lots of convenient dining options nearby. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The best surprise was the Dyson hairdryer – so many hotels have old, weak hairdryers, so this was a real plus. I couldn't seem to find any complimentary tea bags though? If there really aren't any, that would be a good improvement.

JjaspenI've wanted to stay at the W Shanghai - The Bund for a long time, and finally got to during my recent trip to Shanghai. It wasn't as perfect as I'd imagined. First, the good points: The environment is nice, and the cleanliness is decent. The staff are very friendly, and the breakfast offers a wide variety. The outdoor bar was the best experience. Now, for the less satisfying aspects: 1. Previously, when staying at hotels, you could contact scalpers or certain individuals on platforms to use their membership tiers for room upgrades. Since I booked in advance, I contacted them early about a possible upgrade. I was told that if there was an available room type on the day, I could be upgraded. However, on the day of check-in, they claimed there were no rooms available and didn't upgrade me. At the time, I checked the Ctrip app and saw that rooms *were* available. I'm a platinum member with upgrade benefits, and I still didn't get one. 2. My Ctrip booking included two complimentary drinks, but the front desk didn't provide vouchers during check-in. I only found out at the bar that I needed to go back to the front desk to get them. 3. I had a lot of things and wanted to use the black bag in the closet. Unfortunately, it was broken, and the hotel hadn't replaced it in time.

HHHHsmileTo Shanghai Jin Jiang International Hotels Group, Management of Jing An Kunlun Hotel, and the Atrium Cafe Team, As frequent travelers who have stayed in many five-star-plus hotels around the world, my 80-year-old mother and I would like to share an honest note about our recent stay at your hotel. To be frank, the overall service didn’t quite meet the five-star standard we’ve come to expect — for instance, on a rainy day, the front desk staff could have been more proactive and welcoming, especially to elderly guests. The lobby manager and housekeeping team could also respond faster to requests from executive lounge guests, without delays or indifference. That said, Mr. Liu, a server at the first-floor Atrium Cafe, truly impressed us — so much so that we would happily recommend your hotel to family and friends. Mr. Liu is dedicated, professional, and highly efficient. Even at his busiest moments, he remains calm, well-organized, and always smiling — polite, warm, and attentive to every request and question. What stands out even more is his thoughtful, patient care for elderly guests. He knows the Atrium Cafe and the hotel inside out, and is equally familiar with the neighborhood and Shanghai’s tourist scene. He gave us plenty of practical tips, which made our trip so much more enjoyable. When choosing a hotel, location and facilities certainly matter — but what truly makes guests want to come back are staff like Mr. Liu. We do hope the management recognizes more and encourages him further. Excellent staff deserve appreciation, and true talent should be retained. Thank you, Mr. Liu, and kudos to the Atrium Cafe for its great food and dining experience. We look forward to seeing Jin Jiang Group, Jing An Kunlun Hotel, and the Atrium Cafe keep raising the bar — and have more wonderful employees like Mr. Liu in the future.
