Day 1: Historical Memories of Taipei Guest House In the morning, take a leisurely stroll in the heart of Taipei and arrive at the grand Taipei Guest House. This building, which began construction during the Japanese colonial period, combines Baroque style with East Asian elements and is a representative work of modern Taiwanese architecture. As you pass through the gate, you are greeted by a lush courtyard that complements the elegant architecture. The high ceilings and ornate chandeliers inside seem to transport you back to the bustling times of a century ago. The guided tour explains the history of the place, which once served as the Governor's Residence and a reception hall for foreign guests, giving me a deeper understanding of its historical value. In the afternoon, walk to the nearby Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, where the vast sky and the pure white architecture form a striking contrast, evoking a sense of reverence. Day 2: Exploring Urban Oases and Artistic Atmosphere The next day, choose a relaxed pace and visit the Dadaocheng area to experience the nostalgic atmosphere of the old streets. Stroll along Dihua Street, admire the well-preserved arcades and unique shops, and savor traditional delicacies. In the afternoon, head to Huashan 1914 Creative Park, which is filled with various exhibitions and creative shops that make it hard to leave. As the sun sets, take a walk to the 228 Peace Memorial Park, an urban oasis that bears witness to Taiwan's historical changes, offering both tranquility and depth. These two days of itinerary allowed me to feel the historical depth and cultural charm amidst the bustling city of Taipei.
