Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, the "First Mausoleum of the Ming and Qing Dynasties."

Xiaolingwei is a 5A tourist attraction in Xuanwu District, Nanjing, located in the east of Xuanwu District, Nanjing, on the southern foot of Purple Mountain. The Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum was built in the 14th year of the Hongwu period (1381). The following year, Empress Ma died and was buried here. In the 25th year of the Hongwu period (1392), the crown prince Zhu Biao was buried to the east of the Xiaoling Mausoleum. In the 31st year of the Hongwu period (1398), Zhu Yuanzhang died of illness and was buried with Empress Ma in the Xiaoling Mausoleum, and the underground palace of the Xiaoling Mausoleum was officially put into use.
