Nan'ao Island is a hidden gem recommended by National Geographic.

Compared to popular tourist cities, I prefer this treasure island, where I can experience the local leisurely slow life, cycle around the island, enjoy the island scenery, and watch the sunrise and sunset over the sea. It's comfortable and relaxing. 🌟 🏝️ I stayed on the island for three days and cycled around it twice. The scenery along the way was beautiful, and I never got tired of taking photos. The island is 62 km in circumference, so even if you only have one day, it's enough. However, I recommend staying on the island for a day to witness the stunning sunrise and sunset over the sea. It's truly worth it. 🥰 📸 Recommended photo spots: 1️⃣ Tianyu Mountain Villa: A road leading to the sea. 2️⃣ Qiyun Pavilion: A solitary tree and a wide view from the cliff, although the lawn is a bit bare now. 3️⃣ Sanchongya Lighthouse: You can sit next to the rocks and take close-up photos with the lighthouse. 4️⃣ Qian'ao Bay Lighthouse: Standing on the lighthouse boardwalk, enjoying the sea breeze and the sound of waves crashing against the rocks is very comfortable and photogenic. 5️⃣ Rainbow Pier: A place where you can see the rainbow sea along the way, and it's even more beautiful with the sunset. 6️⃣ Cape Beach Camp: A small abandoned camp with swings and a scallop beach, perfect for taking photos. 📍 Nan'ao Island, Shantou, Guangdong 🚘 Transportation: You can drive to the island or take bus 161a or 161k from Shantou Railway Station, bus 203k from Chenghai Bus Terminal in Chenghai District, or bus 105 from downtown Shantou, all of which go directly to the visitor center on Nan'ao Island. 🔴 If you're driving from downtown Shantou to Nan'ao Island, it only takes 1 hour, but there's a bridge toll of 96 to enter the island, and no toll to leave. I drove there, and cycling around the island was very comfortable. There are parking spaces near most scenic spots. Since I drove for a long time, I brought some delicious and filling snacks, such as vacuum-packed eggs and chicken legs, which are tasty and satisfying! 🔴 Besides driving, there are many places along the road where you can rent electric bikes for island tours. The price ranges from 60 to 120, and you can bargain.
