The Island of Flowers

#beachlife A volcanic island in the Atlantic ocean. Madeira is located off the coast of Morocco. It has some splendid hiking trains, fresh seafood as with most of Portugal and lush greenery. The abundance of flowers on the island is what led to Madeira being known as the island of flowers. We visited during the off season, yet it gave us a sense of how gorgeous the place would be during peak season. Beaches continue to be a welcomed offering on this island. Madeira comes with craggy cliffs, intense landscapes, and volcanic black sand beaches. Unlike traditional sandy locales, the beaches on this Portuguese island will grab your attention with their wild splendor. Formosa, located on the southern coast of the island, stands out as one of Madeira’s most visited shores, with dark volcanic sands and refreshing Atlantic waves. Moving westward along the southern coast, Ribeira Brava Beach will provide you with a cozier setting, snuggled away within a sheltered bay and breakwater. Surrounded by abrupt cliffs covered with vegetation, the secluded Ribeira Brava makes for a lovely seaside retreat, ideal for leisurely swims and picnics. Lastly, Garaju nature reserves is not to be missed. During our time there we found some very memorable and gorgeous hikes in the Garaju Nature reserve. #beachlife #portugal #seafood #flowerlover
