Hengshui Lake

The Hengshui Lake National Nature Reserve in Hebei Province is located in the Binhu New District of Hengshui City, covering a total area of 163.65 square kilometers, of which Xihu (West Lake) is 32.5 square kilometers and Donghu (East Lake) is 42.5 square kilometers. It is the only natural reserve in the North China Plain that maintains a complete wetland ecosystem, including marshes, mudflats, waters, meadows, and forests. The reserve is home to a wide variety of animal and plant species, serving as an ecological sanctuary for inland freshwater wetlands and a natural protection area for first and second class protected bird species. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a national-level tourism demonstration unit.
