Anchorage International Airport

Planes could fly from the continental United States or Canada to Anchorage, refuel, and then fly to East Asia, including Korea, Japan, and China. After refueling in East Asia, planes could then fly to Central Asia and Southeast Asia. At the same time, Anchorage Airport's landing fees were said to be very cheap. With its excellent geographical location and price advantage, Anchorage Airport once became the world's largest cargo airport and a must-stop on the Asia-America route. When China Civil Aviation opened the China-US route, it arranged for planes to stop at Anchorage Airport. Many Asian airlines and American airlines also had to stop at Anchorage to reach their destinations. However, since the 1980s and 1990s, with the improvement of technology and the opening of the Arctic route, Anchorage has become less important, resulting in a reduction in cargo volume. However, this has not shaken Anchorage's status.
