Money-saving tips for Anchorage, Alaska.

I flew to Anchorage, Alaska twice, once in late September and once in early July. [Attractions and Suggestions] 🔷Glaciers 🔹Matanuska Glacier: There are many guides available. If you are on a budget, you don't need to book a tour. You can rent or buy cheap crampons in advance. If you don't have a helmet, be careful. 🔹Portage Glacier and Whittier: This glacier is a trail, but you won't actually walk on the ice, just look across the lake. It's suitable for those with lots of energy. Whittier is an almost isolated town, with only one long, single-lane tunnel for both road and rail connecting it to the outside world. It is said that most of the residents of the town live in the same apartment building, which is quite interesting. 🔹Exit Glacier and Harding Icefield: The glacier can be seen on the road, and you can climb up if you are interested. Harding Icefield is also said to be very good. 🔷Cruise 🔹Kenai Fjords: We took a day tour with Kenai Fjords Tours, which was the most expensive single-day tour we took, but it was worth it! The boat went to Aialik Glacier, where we saw huge chunks of ice breaking off, dolphins, whales, sea lions, and puffins. 🔷Hiking 🔹Slaughter Ridge Trail: As the name suggests, this hiking trail is challenging, but well worth a try! I think it's enough to climb halfway up the mountain. It's not marked on Google Maps, but you can find it on the All Trails app. 🔹Skilak Lookout Trail: Overlooking the lake and snow-capped mountains, this trail is a little easier than the one above, but the scenery is not as good. There is tall grass along the way, so I recommend wearing long pants. . 🔷Road Trip 🔹The drive to Seward is beautiful, especially at sunset. We drove this road at least six times. 🔹The drive to Matanuska Glacier is beautiful from the moment you enter the mountains, and there are scenic spots along the road where you can park. 🔹On the way to Homer, there is the westernmost point of the North American Highway, Homer Overlook Point, and End of the Road Park (many people fish on the beach). But overall, the scenery is not very stunning and the journey is long. . 🔷Aurora 🔹There is no aurora in summer, but in late September 2019, we saw the aurora in Anchorage. We drove to Glen Alps in the middle of the night and watched it from the car, but the light from the city below the mountain had a big impact. .
