Great customer service with staff who were patient to explain and helpful in making our breakfast order. Breakfast was fine for us Asians. Safe & bustling area. The only complaint was the design of the bathroom. The shower door was not effective in keeping water out despite our attempts & the 'shower curtains' cover the full windows facing outside was a bit disconcerting. Other than this, we have a pleasant stay.
Novelty: Check out the very small but cute toilet same floor as lobby.

We booked the city view room, but honestly, the view was a bit disappointing. Maybe it's because we were only on the 2nd floor. But otherwise everything else was fine and the staff were really helpful.
Breakfast was packed with a variety of food, none suited my taste but that's more of a me problem. Definitely recommend going a bit early as it tends to get more crowded later on for breakfast.
N HOTEL, located at Zhong zheng district, Taipei, has the best location around the area. We provide accommodation with working space and free Wi-Fi. Depositing luggage and travel inquiring are available.

Location wise - this one is just near Taipei Main Station and Ximen Station. Very convenient.
The room is small and clean, you get what you paid for. Bathroom has hot/cold shower and bidet (Japanese style) which is really plus points.
Only letdown of this trip / stay is the rude and impolite hotel front desk guy. He needs major customer service training. How he responded to me when I inquired if i can leave my luggage while waiting for check in was very appalling. It seems he hates his job or customers on how he responds. His behavior is a clear reflection of the hotel.
Definitely i will go back here due to location and convenience but hoping not to encounter the rude front desk guy.

Pros,
A nice historical hotel with affordable and reasonable price.
The baloncy is very big and the city view is nice. Room is clean and big as well.
Cons,
The only minor thing is you may need to wait for 20-30mins for the free shuttle bus. Shuttle bus is only available til 11pm, or you need to take the taxi to go to Metro station.

What stood out most during my stay was the exceptional service from Anne at the front desk. She was warm, professional, and went out of her way to ensure I had everything I needed. Her welcoming attitude really made a difference and added a personal touch to the experience. The room itself was well-designed, with a comfortable bed and a stylish vinyl record wall. I enjoyed the Free Happy Hour from 5:30-6:30 PM, and the LayLow bar on-site had a great atmosphere. The parking fee of $300/day was a bit steep, and the area around the hotel doesn’t offer much in terms of views. However, thanks to the great service and overall comfort, I left feeling satisfied with my stay.

We stayed at this hotel for our quarantine stay (3+4). This hotel was the highest priced quarantine hotel in Taipei. As Taiwan is moving away from quarantine, it is unclear whether this hotel will remain a quarantine hotel. Provided meals: Three meals were provided. I believe they rotated it somewhat. I would give them 4 stars overall. They were of mid-to-high end quality, but certainly not Michelin star or 5-star hotel restaurant's quality. That is, I had much better at The Regent or The Sheraton Taipei. That said, there was a microwave in the room for one to heat up the meals to a warmer setting as the meals were prepared in bulk at the lobby. They were lukewarm when the meals arrived in our room. It appeared some meals were prepared by the hotel restaurant and others were from outside sources. The meals were *********, Korean, and Japanese focused. If one wants Western foods, then Food Panda or Uber Eats will be what you want. There are expensive local restaurants at Xinyi Districts that you can pay for to get your own food. Check with the hotel on delivery times, I believe that they won't refund the costs of the meals if one chooses not to eat the prepaid meals. Prior to booking the quarantine hotel, they will send one a form to ask for some preferences and/or allergies. There was a toaster and hot water boiler in the room. The drip coffee and tea packets were super flavorful and refilled (via Line or other means of contact) during our stay. In fact, most contacts were done remotely during the quarantine period. Room: This is what one is paying for in this place if one is stuck here for 8 days (landing day is Day 0). The bed and beddings were super comfortable. The bed was a full king, My room was in the smaller side, but sufficient for two people and eight pieces of luggage. The room was super clean. We know, because we tried wiping some areas and found them to be stainless. We also noticed, via the peephole, that housekeeping took over two hours to deep clean our neighbor's room - including the use of what appeared to be an ultraviolet wand to clean some service areas. There was a clothes-wire in the bathroom if one needed to do handwash laundry during the quarantine stay. Unfortunately, the hotel didn't provide any detergent, but we used the provide soap, The bathroom was large with rain showerhead available. The toilet was a bit too high up off the floor for us as we are around 5 ft 8 inches but flushed well. If one's room faced south or east, one would get a good view of Taipei 101. The south side would get a full view, and east side (our room) got the view from the couch in the ”living room” area. The TV was pretty large and we could watch it from our bed comfortably. The only complaint, if any, was that it didn't have as many international channels for this high-end hotel. I wanted Bloomberg, but nothing was offered. Not even CNBC. The WiFi was very fast. The location was convenient. It was near the City Hall MRT (took about 5-7 min

Outstanding
EEricaDear Doubletree by Hilton Taipei,
I would like to offer my compliments to your dedicated team for our very enjoyable stay in your hotel from 3-7 June 2024.
We stayed in rooms 1203 and 1205 and the reservation was made under Ms Erica Tan.
I had stayed in some 5 star hotels such as Shang Ri La Singapore, Westin Singapore, Ritz Carlton Singapore, Kempinski Xiamen to name a few but my stay in Doubletree by Hilton Taipei was one of the most comfortable and pleasant.
The check in by the warm and friendly reception staff was efficient and smooth.
When my daughter accidentally dropped one of the delicious welcome Hilton cookies on the floor, the reception staff quickly replaced it with a warm smile.
When my daughter teared after knowing that there isn’t a swimming pool in the premise, your reception staff, Tina, immediately walked up to us with a map and suggested that we can go to a nearby swimming pool facilities.
Tina also gave us some excellent food suggestions. We had a very satisfying and affordable meal at the Michelin recommended Ji Jia Zhuan ( 鸡家庄), thanks to her recommendation :)
Whenever we return to the hotel from a day of sightseeing, the reception team on duty never failed to greet us in a warm and friendly manner. We felt genuinely welcomed:)
The modern Japandi style rooms and bathrooms are kept in an excellent condition and feel brand new. We especially like how bright, airy and spacious the rooms are.
Kudos to the housekeepers ( Ms Cai Xiu Hui 蔡秀慧阿姨) on level 12 who kept our rooms 1203 and 1205 so clean and comfortable. They always chat amicably with us and confirmed with us if we need any housekeeping service.
The TV entertainment system with its 47 channels ( including TLC, Discovery) , Netflix, YouTube and IQiYi really impressed us.
The semi buffet style daily breakfast sets
( Chinese, Japanese and Western) are healthy and delish and we really looked forward to breakfast every morning.
We hope that Chinese baos (包子)and dim sum pastry such as you tiao ( 油条、蛋饼)can also be offered in future when we next pay a visit to your hotel :)
We would also like to thank your reception staff and housekeepers who helped my mom who stayed in room 1205 on 6 June when the toilet encountered some flushing issues.
My mom had approached the reception staff at around 4 pm on 6 June and the very helpful male reception staff accompanied her to her room and helped remediate the problem along with the housekeeper. She was very impressed by how efficient and friendly your staff were.
All in all, your team has done a great job in our stay. Their service attitude are genuine and warm :) My daughter enjoyed her stay so
much that she kept remarking she would like to extend our stay to 2 more weeks:)
We hope you will pass on the compliments to your team and the staff we named, as a gesture of our appreciation.
MMoGorGorThe hotel is conveniently located near Taipei Station and popular places such as Ximending. As we go to Hualien and Taichung during our visit, location is very important to us. The hotel is also featured with exceptional sauna and hotbath facility and gym and nice Michelin star Chinese restaurant.
AAlvin CharlesGreat Hotel in Xinyi Area, everything is good, but for my personal taste, the hotel is a bit too bright and like discotique theme, which i’m not into.. location is great, quality of amenities also very good.
PPioneer34591270501It is the first time we are staying at CityInn Hotel Taipei Station Branch II and it is conveniently located nearby the Taipei Main Station and Bus Station. On the first day when check in, we receive warm and genuine greetings from the service staff stationed at the reception counter. My friends and I were impressed by the excellent service provided by the staff (led by Lilian and her team mates Nancy and Aria) who provided as a insightful introduction to the premises and amenities available in the hotel. They helped to look after our luggage before the check in timing at 3pm and recommended us to some of the popular food spots around the vicinity. Afterwhich, we collected the room cards from them timely at check in counter without any delay. The room was sparkling clean and room amenities were all avaliable for us. There were also a self service pantry area where you can choose your drinks (coffee or tea and water dispenser) and light snacks such as biscuits and bowl noodles (after 10pm) were provided free of charge. Kitchen utensils as well as Freezer, Microwave and Oven were also made available for in house guest to use 24/7. We were also delighted to know that there is a on-site laundry room where we can wash our laundry which is especially user friendly and helpful as we were on a long trip with soiled clothings. They even provided both the washing machines and dryers as well as the detergent powder. It was so convenient and homely for our 3 days 2 nights at the hotel. Special shout out to Debby (night shift staff) who advised us on the aircon issue we had on first night on how to adjust the right temperature and also Aria assisting us with getting the engineering team to fix the air con on the next morning. Debby thank you for also doing the night shift and maintaining the cleanliness of the pantry in the morning. Lastly, we will like to thank the service team for their excellent service and great hospitality. We are deeply touched by the genuine service and surprise little gift for our friend's birthday. (Thank you Lilian and Kenny and team) Keep up the great work and stay passionate in what you do.
GGuest UserGood things first - Location is excellent if you need to be near Songshan airport. Room is large.
********* hotels no longer provide toothbrushes & toothpaste - this is apparently a government regulation.
The provided toiletries e.g. soap are not great.
however, there were good quality bedroom slippers were a v pleasant surprise.
I checked in after 9pm on a Friday with a flight to catch in 10hrs' time. Staff were friendly at check-in.
Noticed no water was provided in the rooms.
A large notice was displayed informing us to contact them on their app for ALL services. The app showed there was no room service menu, so no worries, I thought I'd just buy cup noodles from the very well-stocked 7-11 located in the lobby, and boil some water.
The kettle's plug was severely bent. The app did not understand 'kettle faulty' and kept telling me where it was.
That's when I realised their app was just a useless robot!
Tried ringing Housekeeping from the room phone but nobody picked up.
Brought the kettle to Front desk to show them. Counter lady had 0 apologies, just an unfriendly expression and told me I should have just called them 🙄. Her more-professional colleague said they'd help me contact Housekeeping.
Housekeeping brought along another faulty kettle 🤦🏻♀️ but he was at least apologetic. While waiting for him to bring a 3rd one, I called the Front Desk again intending to ask for free water since their amenities suck.
Just my luck - grumpy lady picked up and - again - without apology, kept interrupting me to declare they DID have water but it was self service and that they DID inform guests with small print on their key card and a picture of water on the room door. What the...?!
I told her she had a terrible attitude, at which she laughed and I hung up.
I've stayed in hotels where water was self-service - BUT those hotels ensured guests were well notified at check-in and large signs were displayed in various languages in the rooms.
In comparison - Illume failed miserably in this area, and their failure was further exacerbated by faulty equipment, poor service standards (lousy app + ill-manned housekeeping hotline) & the Front Desk staff's inhospitable attitude.
LLeeCelesteThere's a space for coffee and cookie at the lobby, very near to the metro station daan, location is excellent, the breakfast selection is quite limited, there's food nearby hotel. Night market is a stop away which is good, taipei 101 is 2 stop apart.
The room is clean and nice, the service is good and friendly.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located at a very strategic place: super near to Taipei station & suitcase friendly.
The nearest exit is Z4, but since the Taipei station is so complicated, I'll suggest getting an exit to the ground first instead of searching Z4 exit underground. It will be wayyyyy easy to locate the hotel.
I booked the no window room, no issue on my side, but need to be careful on setting the alarm since you won't be able to know the time by the sunlight.
And, a noticeable service provided is that they will help you to keep your luggage after you checkout, so for ppl with night flight, it's super convenient to walk around before the flight.
Overall, friendly staff, clean and bright space, strategic location, cheap price, nice place.
SSharmaine Arby IliganThe hotel is very clean and the room that we booked for a couple of days was awesome. Staffs were kind and can speak english. They were very helpful and they won't let you wait longer when you arrive at the hotel. Their service was great. Complete toiletries, beautiful room. The bathroom is so spacious with hot and cold shower. There's a glass division, where the shower area is separated to the toilet area. Nice 🛁 and very comfortable. Our bed was so comfy and perfect for a rest after a long day of sightseeing and walking around taipei area. We had a wonderful experience in beauty hotel and definitely will come back again. By the way, the hotel has a nice small lounge and a section where you can make a coffee for free. Plus they also has a water refilling station so you don'tneed to buy water from outside. The location of the hotel is also perfect because it is near to Jiantan train station and surrounded with lots of restaurants, bakery, coffee and tea shop and 7 eleven.
PPplyThe hotel was not too far from the train station. The room was pretty small and a bit old but considering the affordable price, i have no complaint.
