Hotels Near Lane 42, Pingjing St, Shilin District in Taipei

Of course it is superb. It has hosted many foreign leaders and its elevator can accommodate 30 Marble nis used in the bathroom and it's large balcony offers a great view of the city. The location was carefully chosen on a hill but the hotel has complimentary shuttle be to the closest subway station. Their staff are extremely professional and helpful!

Nice artistic hotel in a very convenient location close to the metro and bus station of Taipei Arena. The only issue is that the rooms are not very well sound-proof isolated because you can hear the sound of the water pipes from the nearby rooms.

To date, during my 4th visit to Taipei, this is by far the best hotel overall in terms of price, proximity, location and amenities. As for breakfast, I have no comments as I chose the stay without it. The hotel is just opposite the Taipei Main Station and it is super convenient if you are travelling a lot by Metro or HSR. The hotel basement is linked directly to the Taipei Main Station and you need not fret even on rainy days. On the basement level, you can access to a wide spread of Japanese restaurants and other eateries. Starbucks and Tim Ho Wan are within reach too. Behind the hotel, there are in fact a lot of small eateries and stalls. You might want to give it a try if you like to eat like a local! There are far too many food choices near this hotel. You will never go hungry. Hotel room cleanliness and amenities are good, nothing to fault. On the other side, noticed there is only 1 laundry washing machine and 1 dryer within the hotel which is very limited. Hope in time to come, there will be more as it is very convenient for long stay travellers' to have their laundry done here. Price is very reasonable too, 50 twd for washing and another 50 twd for drying. What a good deal! Just to highlight for amenities, you will have to get from the hotel counter as they do not provide inside the room, eg comb, shower cap, toothbrush and toothpaste etc. Overall, this is the hotel I fancy the most and I will definitely come back to stay in this hotel again in time to come!

I have booked a total of 3 nights in this hotel. We have encountered some confusion during the check in as the hotel renamed recently from Hedo to Le Room, and the room size or features of the room we booked initially. Nevertheless, we appreciated the hotel staff gave us a free upgrade during our stay. Perhaps there is renovation works going on in the building or around the building, they provided us a set of ear plug and I believed the complimentary breakfast was provided for the compensation. Nice breakfast spread. Strong connection for their Wifi. However, their pillow is too soft for me. Air con is not consistent, sometime in the middle of the night, the temperature may be a bit too warm for me. The water pressure is strong but sometimes the water suddenly become cold for 1-2sec. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel as the location was strategic. Walking distance to Ximending and exit z10 to the underground mall. The staff is also quite patience and able to compromise our request

All expects of the hotel are done pretty well except for the service. It is located in the heart of Taipei City which makes going anywhere convenient, range between 15 mins - 30mins by cab. The breakfast are well cooked, just don't expect much variations. The service is really bad among the male employees. They shows an inpatient face & tone when I ask them for wifi password after check-in. And when there's problem in the my room, they expect me to fix it myself instead of sending a technician up. When I ask one of the old man, he quickly say 'No No', and leave. This is very bad. I will not be glad to return.

We had a pleasant stay with Hotel Papa Whale, the building is not as new as the photos, but it's clean inside. The room was also clean and the staff were nice. They always restock what you use with the toiletries. I just wish they would change their food a little at the buffet. It was delicious but a bit tiring if you eat the same everyday. Overall, we had a good time. The location was also convenient. Close to everything. :)

A great value hotel with everything you need in a great location. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The shower works well. Stag are friendly and helpful and the location is in the heart of Ximen. The decor is a little dated and there were no windows in the room but if you just need a place to stay and aren’t fussed about beauty then this is a perfect choice!

The room was too small. I couldnt fit anywhere my luggage but the bed was very comfortable and we loved the toilet and restroom. Good lighting and its very near Ximen train station which was very convenient. Service was not at all the best, but it’s safe. There’s a security guard stationed by the entrance. ☺️

The location is very convenient, you can actually get there in 15 seconds from MRT Ximen Exit 2. There are 7-11 and breakfast spots downstairs, especially breakfast restaurant No. 2 is really delicious. After staying for four nights, the air conditioner in the second room failed. The staff quickly arranged for us to stay in the second room. It is recommended for a family of four. The two double beds are very comfortable.

It was OK, but the room was less than i expect for 5 star. Paint is worn out, wallpaper going off at some places. Cleaning staff forgot our room on our 2nd day. However, staff is helpful, fair discount on the restaurants. Gym is definitely cheap for 5 star. A few cardio machines and thats it. No weight, dumbell or anything. Pool looked nice, but didnt try it. Overall View is nice,AC works fine. Location is great, 4 mins from subway and Longshan temple.
