Quality Inn & Conference Center

My family stayed at this hotel for a little weekend getaway, mainly because it was cheap. The phrase ”you get what you pay for” definitely describes this ”hotel.” The lobby was the only decent area in the whole facility. As soon as we walked into the hallway we were met with what smelled like a high school bathroom...a mixture of cigarette smoke and urinal cakes. There were stains all over the carpets. Our room was supposed to be a no smoking room but it smelled horrible, like old cigarette smoke. There was also a cigarette burn on the one comforter. The heater/air conditioner unit also smelled until my wife sprayed air freshener into it. The bathroom fixtures were in dire need of upgrades. There was mildew in the grout lines and what appeared to be black mold around the windows above the air conditioner. The ”free wifi” worked sporadically at best, even when down in the lobby. Our kids found one spot in the room where wifi reception was workable but still slow as molasses in January. The morning we left we noticed that the iron that was in its storage rack above the kids heads in what they had dubbed the wifi spot had a dry-rotted and broken strap that was supposed to secure it in the rack. It could have easily fallen on their heads had they bumped the wall. The pool was a dark and dreary place with very few towels. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this place like the plague.
Hampton Inn Somerset

This property felt like it was perhaps one of the original Hampton Inns. Staff wise, it was great. Front desk folks were terrific. The hotel is tired. Some attempt has been made to freshen it up but it needs so much more. There’s nothing you can do about the location next to idling 28 wheelers at a truck stop, but they could do more with cleanliness. Also, no one should be in rooms that have wires rubbing down the wall or stains on the furniture. Breakfast could use a bit more variety but the waffles were good.

Nice place in Somerset, PA. Front Desk person was very helpful. Very good FREE Breakfast. Very close to Flight 93 memorial. Right off the PA Turnpike and the town seems to have a lot of restaurants to choose from. I would stay here again. Nice ppol too for the kids.
Days Inn by Wyndham Somerset PA I-70 I-76

Stayed overnight while passing through. Just off the turnpike, easy on/off. Positives, room was clean, beds and pillows comfy. Was quiet. And was $80 on a Saturday night. Hard to expect much for that $. Negatives, WiFi although free, was almost useless. Breakfast was sp****, and the guy that was supposed to be refilling was very reluctant to do so. You can see he was trying to get through breakfast as cheap as he could. Coffee was bad. Now the bad one. I opened the curtain on our first floor room to look out. Noticed a block of wood and some screws laying there. They were the window lock. There was nothing to stop anyone from just sliding the window open and climbing in. Sorry, but security is very important. So, I got some tools from the car, and made sure no one was opening that window. If you stay here, expect this sort of thing. But, it’s a cheap hotel, you should expect it.
Comfort Inn

Sharon, the manager was remarkable. She was pleasant, “homey”, warm and professional. Her staff were equally friendly. The property was clean and very quiet despite its proximity to the turnpike and the interchange. My only comments included size. The two beds were not queen size as I imagined - (but the mattresses were comfy and may have been advertised as full beds and I just missed that in the listing.) The outdoor pool was very small but afforded us relief from the hot summer weather. We will return to this property due to its cleanliness, and convenient location to the Laurel Highlands attractions we were there to visit!
