"Room was pretty good, check in process was a little slow but staff were very apologetic, loved the info and links via text, unfortunately no wifi details were left on the desk (I didn't ask or complain tho cuz I had my own internet). The only real downer was I went to the bistro for dinner and the footy was on super loud and I really couldn't enjoy my meal and when I complained and asked if this was the bistro my concerns about how loud it was were completely dismissed. The also had a sports bar so I don't understand why the bistro had to be so loud. I thought it was a bit rich being charged $2 for a takeaway container despite the fact i couldn't sit and enjoy my meal due to the footy (qld teams weren't even playing either). Otherwise everything else was good."

"The room was very clean, which was great. I had to leave early in the morning this time, so I didn't get to have breakfast.
As a solo female traveler, having the toilets and showers on the same floor as the men made me feel a little uneasy. In particular, I was concerned about the large gap at the bottom of the shower room door, making it visible from the outside.
I thought it was great that it was close to the station, but since the train service was infrequent, I ended up taking a taxi. (I wish I had looked into that beforehand.)"

"The location of the hostel was great, right in the centre of where you need to be. The staff were nice and helpful. However the hostel standard was not up to the same level as the location and staff. The rooms were moderately clean, we had a massive brown stain on our bedding when we arrived, the showers and toilets had mould and clumps of spiders and spiders webs everywhere. In the corners, on the ceilings, in the actual toilet and shower areas. That being said you get what you pay for, this is one of the cheapest hostels in airlie beach, so you sacrifice some cleanness due to how cheap it is."

"The counter staff is very friendly! Always answer all our questions with a smile!
We checked in around 20:30 this time and stayed for two nights.
There are different activities to participate in at the Youth Hostel every day! It is recommended to stay on the day of your favorite event!
My personal experience sharing:
1. The water in the bathroom is a little small, but it’s not a big problem
2. There is no storage space in the shower room, but there is a step to separate wet and dry areas. Remember to bring your own washbasin or something to wash in the bathroom.
3. The counter closes at 10 o'clock, so you can borrow a hair dryer before then.
4You need to bring your own lock to lock the lockers in the room, so remember to bring it!

"The hotel claimed to be close to the central station, but it's actually about a 10-minute walk, and you have to go up a steep hill, which isn't ideal if you have luggage. The room facilities are basic, with a kettle and a coffee machine. The bathroom is a bit small, and the shower water tends to leak out, so you need to be careful not to slip. The main elevator door downstairs seems to close around 8:00 PM, so guests returning later have to use the stairs, which is inconvenient if you're carrying bags. There's an underground parking lot, which is good for those traveling by car."

"We are a family of 7, and we needed a place to stay for one night in Brisbane. Airport Motel Brisbane had just the right setup for us. One room for our 5 kids, and one room for my wife and I. The rooms were clean and inviting, and good evidence of recent remodel. Location made it very convenient to walk to the City Cat ferry in order to explore Brisbane for the afternoon. Customer service allowed us to check in early with our airport luggage, which was super helpful."

GGuest UserI thought because of the price, it wouldnt be that great but we were so blown away. The view is gorgeous, the location is perfect and it’s so lovely while still cozy. Staff were great and the amenities were a great way to spend an evening, 10/10 recommend!!
___jtLocation is not too bad. Situated a 15 minute walk away from the waters and main restaurant area. Situated on a main road but quiet at night. They let us put down our luggage when we couldn’t check in yet and leave it there after we’d checked out and waited for our flight. The young female receptionist was very helpful and nice.
IilovetravelyeahhI really enjoyed staying here! It was SO CLEAN and the beds were absolutely wonderful - so comfy! Th best of my life, actually. We did get an upgrade to 3-bedroom Oasis building, room 204, by the way. That was so amazing and we would definitely stay again and would love to. It's like brand new and is such a beautiful apartment and building in general. Just a short walk to the beach (like a few minutes). Great undercover parking - secure, with remotes - and just such a great stay. The cleaners for the apartment were so great. You only get 1 clean per 7 days, it seems, but we liked that - we could enjoy the privacy and there are cleaning tools in there - like vacuum, mop, etc. and iron, great washing machine and dryer, which we enjoyed using daily. The kitchen is fully equipped and it's basically an apartment.
So just so you know - it seems to be a real estate agency who lets rooms in varying apartment buildings in the precinct (all within walking distance from each other). So I guess if you book based on photos, you may not actually get that room or apartment block. But we had a great experience and would love to stay again. It's so close to the beach and the beach is so clean - no litter. Lifeguards are even there.
It's more of a quiet place to stay and more longterm or self-serve kind of thing; and that's great for people who want to basically rent a home for a short time, really, like we did. We had 11 nights as we were moving house and needed somewhere to stay and we so enjoyed it! I want to buy it haha. It's not like a resort nor hotel, really - it's maybe more like AirbnB but very professional and run by real state who is there in an office a short walk away, and they seem very professional and great. I don't usually like AirbnB.
GGuest UserGood value for money. When you book you must check before if you get a room with view to garden or corridor withno outside view. Nice pool are withtropical palm feeling. Very friebdly staff
GGuest UserLovely clean old Queensland building in a great location,
With a relaxed atmosphere , sit out on the front porch and watch the city start to wake up.
Will definitely be staying again.
WWill MurrinI recently stayed at Hides Hotel during a trip to Cairns and was pleasantly surprised by the value and charm this heritage-style hotel offers.
The location is absolutely unbeatable—right in the heart of the city and within walking distance of the Esplanade, night markets, Reef Fleet Terminal, and plenty of restaurants and cafes. Whether you’re heading out for a reef tour or just exploring the local area, Hides is a super convenient base.
The room was basic but clean and comfortable. It had everything I needed, including air-conditioning (a must in Cairns!), a small fridge, and free Wi-Fi. The building itself has an old-school character that’s a bit different from your typical chain hotels, which I actually really liked—it feels like you’re staying somewhere with history.
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, happy to give recommendations and assist with bookings. There’s also a lovely wide veranda on the upper level, which is a great spot to relax in the evening and take in the atmosphere of the city.
Only downside was that the hotel is a bit dated in places, and depending on the room you’re in, you might hear a bit of street noise—but that’s to be expected in a central location like this.
Overall, Hides Hotel is a great choice for budget-conscious travelers who want clean, central, no-fuss accommodation with character. I’d definitely consider staying again.
GGuest UserOverall, this hostel deserves 4 out of 5 stars. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I especially liked the central location and the pleasant atmosphere. The common areas were also modern and comfortably designed. My only minor criticisms would be the noise at night and the somewhat small bathrooms in some rooms. Nevertheless, the stay was very enjoyable overall, and it offered good value for money.
FFlemingTaniaWe booked our accommodation at Hola as it was a short drive from the birthday party celebration at a local Brewery we attended. We were pleasantly surprised by this bouquet-style accommodation(only 15 rooms). Every room is slightly different with different art from a local artist hanging in the room. A local potter has made one-of-a-kind coffee and tea cups. All of the content in the bar fridge is locally sourced (bottles are recycled) everything is about sustainability- furniture from recycled timber, a water tank, solar-sourced power, private, tranquil, and the most amazingly comfortable bed (we both sleep very well) The bathroom products are beautiful: organic botanicals designed to elevate your mood that is vegan-friendly, cruelty-free and refillable. Across the road is a park, Thai restaurant, and local markets (Wed & Fri.) We only stayed one night but we would definitely go back for a longer stay next time so that we could enjoy the gardens and private lawn area (picnic/ read a book/ chillout). We have already recommended Hola to family and friends. Eumundi is a 20-minute drive to Noosa (north) or (South) to Mooloolaba. Super clean and very new/modern. The welcome bag containing lollies and chocolates was a nice gesture The only very, very small thing for me, was there was no shower cap (I have long hair), I think because shower caps are plastic it goes against their suitability Philosophy. I did have a hairband to use, so really that is my only negative thing.
MmokepanThis hostel has a great location, but I had a truly disappointing experience. What happened was that groceries I had bought were thrown away. They usually store items in the fridge on the first floor before discarding them, but when I asked at the reception, the staff member acted annoyed, saying they didn't know anything, and didn't apologize at all for throwing away my food without permission. Additionally, there's no freezer, so if you're planning to stay here next time, it might be good to keep in mind that you can't store frozen food, your groceries might be thrown away without your permission, and you might not receive an apology.
Furthermore, the toilets at this hostel were clearly not cleaned and smelled terrible from the start. I also had an experience where the curtain on my own bed was opened without my permission, which was not a good experience. If you're paying the same amount to stay in the city, you might be more satisfied elsewhere. Of course, not everyone will have the same experience; there are friendly and polite reception staff members. However, my experience is also a fact.
