The Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus / Mount of Santa Luzia, located in the city of Viana do Castelo, Portugal, is one of the city's iconic religious buildings, situated atop Mount Santa Luzia, overlooking the Lima River and the Atlantic coast. Construction of this church began in 1904 and took over 50 years to complete, finishing in 1959. It blends Byzantine and Gothic architectural styles, with a magnificent exterior. The church's dome towers into the clouds and is one of the landmarks in northern Portugal. Visitors can reach the top by cable car or on foot to enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view.
