Nanhu Park is located in the central urban area of Mengzi, Yunnan, and the entire park is built around the waters of Nanhu. In the past, this was just a waterlogged depression, formerly known as Cao Lake. During the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty, it began to be dredged into a lake. Later, the government directed the deepening of the lake bed and used the silt to build three small hills in the lake, naming them after the legendary fairy mountains of Penglai, Yingzhou, and Fangzhang. A central causeway runs across the lake, dividing it into large and small lakes. After hundreds of years of building hills, planting trees, constructing embankments, and building pavilions, it has the appearance of clear waves and weeping willows today, and is known as "Little West Lake." The landmark building in the park is the Yingzhou Pavilion on the east side of the lake, which locals usually call the "Hexagonal Pavilion." This three-story, double-eaved, hexagonal, pointed-roof wooden pavilion was first built during the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, later destroyed by war, and rebuilt during the Guangxu reign. Historical county records described the scenery of this area by comparing the pavilion to a brush, the fields to an inkstone, the mountains to a brush rest, and the lake water to an ink pool, listing it as one of the "Three Mountains of Elegant Beauty" scenes. The water area east of the lake was thus named "Xuehai" (Sea of Learning), where scholars used to gather to read and recite poetry. The center of the lake is also dotted with artificial islands such as Song Island and Junshan Mountain, with pavilions, towers, and winding bridges and corridors hidden among the green shade and weeping willows. The area around the lake retains old Western-style buildings built during the treaty port period; the former sites of the customs house and consulate are nearby, where Chinese and Western styles converge on the shore of the lake. In the early morning and evening, locals are often seen walking along the embankment or sitting and chatting, making it a great place to get close to the daily life of Mengzi.Mengzi · 5.3km from downtown

Bisezhai is definitely worth a visit. Movies like *Youth* and *Forever Young* were filmed here. The scenic area isn't large and isn't tiring to explore, but I still recommend taking the sightseeing bus round trip.

Nanhu Park, located in the southern part of Mengzi city, is one of the city's main parks. The park boasts many beautiful attractions, including a lake, gardens, and an amusement park. It's a popular leisure spot for Mengzi residents and a must-see for tourists. The park features a lake surrounded by walking paths and pavilions, perfect for strolling and enjoying the scenery. The gardens are filled with flowers and plants, offering beautiful blooms and natural landscapes. The amusement park offers various rides, including a carousel and bumper cars, providing plenty of fun for children. In addition to the attractions, Nanhu Park also has various snack and souvenir shops where you can sample local cuisine and purchase souvenirs. The relief pillars of Mengzi Crossing-the-Bridge Rice Noodle Town in Honghe Prefecture are a culinary epic carved into stone. More than ten majestic bluestone pillars unfold the history of rice noodles through relief carving: from the rolling waves of rice paddies in southern Yunnan to the caravans carrying grain on ancient post roads, and the classic legend of a lady delivering food to a pavilion in the middle of a lake—every stroke is delicate and lifelike. The craftsmen use a combination of realism and abstraction to present the production process in three dimensions, including grinding the rice paste, blanching it in boiling water, and arranging the ingredients. Steam seems to rise from the bluestone slabs, and the textures of fresh vegetables and meats are vividly depicted. The pillars are also adorned with totem patterns of the Yi and Hani ethnic groups, blending culinary culture with the ethnic customs of southern Yunnan. Standing and gazing upwards, fingertips tracing the raised and recessed lines, one can almost touch the lineage of Mengzi rice noodles, from a folk snack to an intangible cultural heritage treasure, and understand the deep bond between a city and a bowl of noodles.

Yunnan, a province brimming with history and culture, boasts many cities, but Mengzi, though relatively low-key, possesses a unique charm that cannot be ignored. One of the most unforgettable places during my visit to Mengzi was the Memorial Hall of the National Southwest Associated University (Mengzi Branch). The Southwest Associated University is a monument in modern Chinese history. In this memorial hall, we can gain a deeper understanding of this history and feel the hardships and struggles of the teachers and students at that time. The memorial hall has two floors, showcasing the historical background, curriculum, contributions of teachers and students, and subsequent development of the Southwest Associated University. The environment here is simple and elegant, with wooden structures that give a solemn and tranquil feeling. The hall displays a large number of pictures, documents, and artifacts, each leaving a deep impression. Especially the photograph of the "National Southwest Associated University Monument," standing amidst the scenery of Mengzi, evokes memories of that glorious era. There are various materials about the Southwest Associated University here, including some precious artifacts and historical archives. I particularly liked the old photographs and manuscripts, which authentically record the scenes of life and study at that time. This memorial hall is free to enter; there are no admission fees. You simply need to visit during the designated hours. If time permits, it's recommended to arrive early, as it's less crowded, allowing you to better appreciate the atmosphere and exhibits. During my visit, I learned many historical stories about the National Southwest Associated University. For example, Mr. Wen Yiduo's "Last Speech" took place here; and there were also calligraphy works by Mr. Zhao Puchu, among others. These exhibits are accompanied by detailed explanations, giving you a deeper understanding of this history. In short, if you come to Mengzi, you must visit the National Southwest Associated University (Mengzi Branch) Memorial Hall. While the exhibits aren't numerous, each one is precious. The environment is also perfect for quiet reflection and experiencing the charm of history. If you are interested in history, don't miss this memorial hall!

Dashuzhai Night Market is very lively and is one of the most distinctive and popular night markets in Mengzi. There are many stalls here, and the food is rich and varied, including grilled skewers, street hot pot, spicy crab, rice rolls, and roasted potatoes. They are all delicious.

Bisezhai Station covers an area of about 2 square kilometers and is still in operation. It is of great value to the study of the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway and the history of China's railway development. The small mountain village of Bisezhai is a great place for many tourists and photographers. Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture is located in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in southern Yunnan. There are limestone mountains, plateaus, valleys, dam areas, hills and other landforms in the territory. The altitude difference is large and the terrain is extremely complex. The area has abundant precipitation, sufficient sunlight, small annual temperature difference, humid climate, and many monsoons. It mainly belongs to the subtropical plateau monsoon climate. Because the Tropic of Cancer crosses the prefecture, the temperature and humidity in the prefecture increase from north to south with decreasing latitude, showing the characteristics of humidity and heat. The rainy season in Honghe Prefecture is mostly concentrated in May-October, and the frost period is from late November to January and February of the following year. Therefore, when traveling to Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, you should avoid the summer and autumn when rain and heat occur at the same time. March-April and September-November when the sunlight is mild and the rainfall is less are the best.
