Shuanglong Bridge

Shuanglong Bridge, commonly known as "Shuanglong Bridge", spans, on the west side of Jianshui Ancient City, the confluence of the Song Lo and the Tachuong River, taking its name from where the two waterways meet. This stone arch bridge was first built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty and originally had only three arches. After the river widened, fourteen more arches were added during the Daoguang era, joining the original three to form 17 arches. At the center stands a three-story pavilion with a xieshan roof and triple eaves, covered with yellow glazed tiles, with a small pavilion at each end. The main pavilion and the small pavilions are staggered along the bridge's more than 100 meters of length, and from a distance the bridge resembles a multi-storied boat moored on the water. Bridge expert Mao Yisheng once listed it as one of the country's large ancient bridges, and it has appeared on Chinese postage stamps as a representative of Yunnan's ancient bridges. Today the ancient bridge no longer carries motor vehicles, and the deck is reserved for pedestrians. You can watch the flow of the Song Lo through each arch, or walk to the bridgehead to look back at the bridge's full profile. A wetland park has been built beside the bridge, with ponds, farmland, and distant hills opening up into a broad rural scene, and at sunset the arches and the pavilion are reflected on the water. If you take the narrow-gauge sightseeing train of Jianshui Ancient City, there is aShuanglong Bridge Stationon the route where you can get off and see the ancient bridge up close.Jianshui · 4.6km from downtown

Lin'an Sightseeing Railway Station is located in Lin'an Town, Jianshui County, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is a meter-gauge railway station with a history of nearly 100 years. The station was built in 1928 and was originally part of the Gebishi Railway. It still retains a strong French architectural style. The yellow exterior of the station building combines Chinese and Western elements and has become one of the important landmarks of Jianshui Ancient City. At present, Lin'an Station is the starting point of the tourist route. This small train is about 13 kilometers long, passing through Shuanglong Bridge and Xianghui Bridge, and ends at Tuanshan Village. The scenery along the way is picturesque, and tourists can enjoy the pastoral scenery and historical relics and experience a slow-paced travel style. The interior of the carriage adopts a wooden structure, retaining the open door and manually openable window design, creating a strong retro atmosphere. The sun shines into the car through the white curtains, providing tourists with a background for taking photos. In addition, the train stops at various stations, making it convenient for tourists to get off and visit local attractions such as Shuanglong Bridge and Tuanshan Residences.Jianshui · 1.5km from downtown

Jianshui Pubo Spring (Dabanjing) was built in the early years of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty. It is a well-known well in Jianshui. Dabanjing has a history of more than 600 years, and it still gushes out sweet well water. The well mouth is round with a diameter of about 2.7 meters. Six curved stone slabs are interlocked through six stone pillars. The rope marks on the bluestone well fence record the vicissitudes of the ancient well. The water of Dabanjing is clear and sweet, and it is even more sweet when used to make tea. People in Jianshui like to drink the water from this well because it is "the best in Yunnan". Visitors who come here can witness the unique design of this ancient well and feel the weight of history. When visiting Dabanjing, tourists are advised to respect the living habits of local residents and not to take water or throw debris at will to protect this precious historical relic. Jianshui Pubo Spring is not only a water supply facility, but also a symbol of Jianshui culture, carrying rich historical memories.Jianshui · 2.9km from downtown

Jianshui Ancient City | A Thousand-Year-Old Lin'an, Hiding Yunnan's Gentlest Slow Time ✨ Having traveled through many ancient cities in Yunnan, I have a particular fondness for Jianshui. Unlike the bustling crowds of Dali and Lijiang, this ancient city of Lin'an, with its thousand-year history, is a truly living ancient city. There's no excessive commercialization or dense clusters of trendy shops; only the rich cultural heritage and the everyday life brimming with life, hiding the leisurely pace of southern Yunnan's life within the ancient alleyways and blue-brick walls passed down through the years. The moment you step into the ancient city, all the anxieties of your journey are soothed. The winding bluestone paths, polished by centuries of wind and rain, are both warm and rustic. Along the streets are well-arranged Ming and Qing dynasty houses and elegant stone archways, their upturned eaves embodying Chinese aesthetics, their mottled walls etched with the marks of time. Deep within the alleys, locals still live and work for generations, with wisps of smoke rising from chimneys in the morning and leisurely conversations in the afternoon—a blend of everyday life and ancient charm, gentle and healing. The spirit of the ancient city is hidden in its cultural heritage passed down through generations. The Chaoyang Tower, standing majestically in the east of the city for six hundred years, bears witness to the vicissitudes of Jianshui over a millennium. Greeting the sunrise and bidding farewell to the sunset, it is the most captivating landmark of the ancient city. The Jianshui Confucian Temple, the largest in China, is tranquil and serene. Ancient cypress trees reach for the sky, and the Pan Pond reflects the surrounding landscape. Its ancient and solemn architecture, with its bracketed eaves and flying corners, exudes a scholarly atmosphere that has continued for a thousand years. A stroll through it is filled with a refined and tranquil ambiance, inspiring awe. Every step reveals a scene of ancient charm, and every brick and tile tells a story. The Zhu Family Garden, hailed as the "Grand View Garden of Southern Yunnan," features winding corridors, secluded courtyards, and exquisitely carved beams and painted rafters. Each courtyard offers a unique view, showcasing the elegant splendor of a once-powerful family. The century-old narrow-gauge railway, winding its way through rice paddies and ancient villages, its whistle whistling softly in the evening breeze, offers an immersive experience of the romance and gentleness of bygone days—a uniquely Jianshui-esque healing romance. What's most captivating is the vibrant, everyday life of the ancient town. Everywhere you look, there are stalls selling grilled tofu, their smoke rising, the crispy exterior and tender interior a testament to Jianshui's ingrained flavor. The fragrant and sweet grass-sprout rice noodles and authentic local barbecue are affordable and delicious, each bite a taste of southern Yunnan. Spend your leisure time sitting by the roadside, watching locals chat and slowly grill tofu, letting time flow by peacefully—a truly serene and enjoyable experience. And here you'll find the unique Jianshui purple pottery, its thousand-year-old kilns burning ever since. Meticulously crafted by artisans, its crackled texture is warm and elegant, embodying the craftsmanship and heritage of southern Yunnan—the ancient town's most precious cultural symbol. By day, admire the ancient architecture and cultural heritage; by night, embrace the vibrant life of the ancient city. By day, Jianshui is like Lin'an, a city steeped in history and culture, with its scholarly atmosphere and gleaming ancient buildings. By night, Jianshui transforms into a gentle, relaxed town, with soft lights, tranquil streets, and the aroma of delicious food carried on the evening breeze, making every journey more pleasant. In Jianshui, there's no need to rush to see everything; simply stroll at your leisure. See the ancient buildings reflected in the moonlight, hear the rumble of the railway tracks, savor the everyday life, and cherish the gentle passage of time. This hidden gem of an ancient city in southern Yunnan tells the story of the most healing slow-paced life in Yunnan through its millennia-old cultural heritage and gentle, vibrant atmosphere. 🌿 (For sightseeing)

Zitaoli is a unique cultural and tourism complex in Jianshui, Yunnan, centered around purple pottery culture. It integrates diverse offerings, including art experiences, family entertainment, and dining. The following is a comprehensive review: 1. Family Entertainment Experience Zitaoli Park is a popular weekend getaway for children. Featuring a macaron-colored slide, a bubble war zone, and a heated swimming pool (including children's water gun toys), parents report that their children "don't want to leave." 1 The indoor and outdoor water park is designed to balance fun and safety, making it particularly suitable for summer play. 1 2. Cultural Features and Artistic Atmosphere Purple Pottery Craftsmanship: Master purple pottery studios are clustered around the area, including Chen Baoyi's "Chen Glaze" exhibition. Visitors can observe traditional intaglio carving and embossing techniques up close and purchase discounted artwork. 2 Architectural Aesthetics: The lighting decorations on Zitao Street incorporate ethnic minority customs. Decorated at night, it serves as both a cultural showcase and a marketplace. 3 III. Dining and Leisure Facilities ‌Pomegranate Tea Bar: Serves hot pot, Western cuisine, and specialty drinks (such as the color-changing Blue Butterfly drink). Douyin group buy packages offer excellent value, and the environment is perfect for a date night. ‌4. ‌Purple Pottery Street Night Market: Densely populated with food stalls, coconut juice (2 yuan/cup) and local barbecue are recommended, but be aware that prices vary among some stalls. ‌3. IV. Transportation and Accommodation Convenience There are many B&Bs (such as the Glazed Pottery Qimei Inn) around the core area, within walking distance of Zitaoli, Zitao Street, and the Old Town. Some B&Bs offer discounts on purple pottery artefacts. ‌2. It's recommended to combine the Purple Pottery Street Night Market with Zitaoli Amusement Park for an evening or nighttime itinerary. ‌13

National Day Holiday|A must-see meter-gauge train for Jianshui It’s hard to get a ticket for Jianshui Ancient City Train🚄 on holidays🎫. I bought a ticket half a month in advance, and it’s worth paying a little handling fee💰! There are four stations🚂: Lin’an, Shuanglong Bridge, Shuanghui Bridge, and Tuanshan, each stopping for 30, 20, and 40 minutes, which is basically enough time for sightseeing! From the bright sunshine☀️ to the heavy rain⛈️, I experienced the four seasons of life in Yunnan in one afternoon! If your eyes are tired from traveling👀, come with a hot steam eye mask, which heats up quickly in 30s, keeps the temperature constant, soothes the eyes, is skin-friendly and soft, and moisturizes the skin around the eyes. It’s easy to carry in a small package📦! Highly elastic ear straps and comfortable sleep💤 let me have an eye spa anytime, anywhere! 🏨Attractions: Jianshui Ancient City Train 🚗Address: Lin'an Ancient City Meter-gauge Train Theme Park, Yinghui Road, Jianshui County, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province #米规小火车

😎 Train Ride Experience: Stepping into the train station feels like stepping back a century into the old Yunnan-Vietnam Railway, with the train slowly making its way along the tracks. The scenery along the way is beautiful, showcasing Jianshui's distinctive architecture, farmland, hills, lakes, and grasslands. You can take stunning photos and enjoy the scenery while the train is in motion. 💡 Tips: 1. Please be careful when taking photos on the train. 2. Do not stand near the windows while the train is moving to avoid danger. 3. Train tickets are inexpensive, making them suitable for those who want to experience a retro atmosphere.

Speaking of wells in Jianshui Ancient Town, the first thing that comes to mind is Osaka Well, because this well is also a landmark attraction in Jianshui Ancient Town. But in Jianshui Ancient Town, if you walk carefully, you will find that there are really many wells. This time, in addition to Osaka Well, I discovered a four-eye well. This scene is also quite unique, with four open eyes. I don’t know if people still go to get water from it now, but from above, the water clarity is still very high.

Jianshui Wulonghu City Park is located on Zitao Avenue. It is a large park and a health theme park. The park covers a large area and has many lakes. The park is lush with trees and flowers. It is a place for citizens to relax and have fun. Many people go to the park for a walk in the morning and evening.
