Liangcheng Daihai Tourist Resort

Liangcheng Daihai Tourist Area is located in the southern part of Ulanqab League, with beautiful mountains and clear waters and pleasant scenery. Daihai is 10 kilometers long from north to south and 35 kilometers wide from east to west. In midsummer, the slightly oval-shaped Daihai looks like a lotus leaf just emerging. During the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Kangxi visited Daihai many times during his border inspections and built a temporary palace here, named "Liangcheng" and named Daihai "Tianchi". The temporary palace was later renamed Huixiang Temple, which was once one of the largest temples in Inner Mongolia and was destroyed by war in 1939. There are dozens of wild animals in the 38,000 mu of primitive secondary forests in Manhan Mountain. There are unique landscapes such as Foye Cave, Jinshuiling, and Wannian Ice House under the northern peak, making it a good place for sightseeing. There are many scenic spots in Daihai Tourist Area. Standing at the ruins of Huixiang Temple and looking west, the sleeping Buddha of Dongjin Mountain looks peaceful and lifelike. The tourist area has the 5,000-year-old Longshan Early Culture of the Northern Kingdom, the Tiger Mountain Stone City Ruins and the Yuanzigou Cave Ruins, as well as two 100-kilometer Great Walls - the Qin and Han Great Wall and the Ming and Qing Great Wall. Daihai Hot Spring, also known as Mapao Spring, is located in Zhongshuitang Village, Sansumu Township, near Daihai. It is famous because of the legend that Emperor Kangxi rode his horse to dig for water here to quench his thirst during his border patrol. In the past, it has always been a place for lamas and dignitaries to bathe and recuperate. The daily water flow is 2,732 tons and the water temperature is 38 degrees.Liangcheng · 14.8km from downtown

Badaling Great Wall

The Badaling Great Wall is a highly representative section of the Ming Great Wall, located in Yanqing, Beijing, north of Juyong Pass. Since ancient times, it has been a strategic military location guarding the northwestern passage to the capital. The pass city is trapezoidal in shape, narrow in the east and wide in the west, with two gates, east and west. The east gate bears the inscription "Juyong Outer Town," and the west gate bears the inscription "Key to the North Gate." Both inscriptions remain clearly legible to this day. Extending north from the pass is the North Wall, along which more than ten watchtowers are distributed; to the south is the South Wall, which has fewer watchtowers. North Tower 8 is the highest point of the entire section, at over 1,000 meters above sea level, and from its top you can overlook the magnificent sweep of the wall winding along the mountain ridges. The North Wall has higher terrain and steeper slopes with open views, and is the main route for most visitors; the South Wall is relatively gentle and less crowded, making it suitable for visitors who want to take photos at a relaxed pace and avoid the crowds. If time permits, walking the South Wall first and then the North Wall is a more leisurely arrangement. Badaling Great Wall is also one of the earlier sections of the wall opened to the public. The top surface of the wall is paved with square bricks, and the widest parts can accommodate five horses walking side by side. Defensive structures such as battlements and arrow holes are well preserved, and walking along it gives a direct sense of the construction standards of Ming Dynasty border defense works. In fall, layers of red leaves on the mountains contrast beautifully with the gray brick wall, making it a season that many photography enthusiasts travel specifically to capture. ▲Travel through 600 years of gilded splendor and encounter the visual shock of crimson red leaves blanketing the mountains ▲nightAs night falls, it winds through the mountains like a brilliant golden dragon, and the ancient city wall illuminated by lights tells of the glory and mystery of a thousand years of history ▲ In winter, the Badaling Great Wall, covered in pristine white snow, winds through the mountains like a silver dragon. The golden light of dawn spills across the wall, painting a tranquil and magnificent picture.China · Beijing

Yingxian Wooden Pagoda

Yingxian Wooden Pagoda is centered on the Sakyamuni Pagoda of Fogong Temple. This pure wooden pavilion-style pagoda was first built in the second year of Qingning of the Liao Dynasty (1056) and later expanded and completed during the Mingchang period of the Jin Dynasty. It is the oldest surviving wooden pagoda in China. The pagoda has five visible stories, with concealed stories inserted between them, making nine stories in total, and stands about 67 m tall. Apart from the stone platform base on the first story, the main body of the pagoda is built entirely of wood, connected using traditional mortise-and-tenon craftsmanship, and the whole pagoda uses more than 50 types of bracket sets, demonstrating exquisite structural design. For more than nine hundred years, the pagoda has withstood many major earthquakes and modern artillery bombardment and still stands today. Due to the need for cultural relic protection, visitors may only visit the first floor inside the pagoda. There is a door on each of the north and south sides of the first floor. In the center of the inner chamber is a seated statue of Shakyamuni about 10 m tall, with a dignified face and a solemn expression. Looking up, you can see the exquisite coffered ceiling at the top. On the walls of the inner chamber are painted six Buddha images of Tathagata, and on the walls on both sides of the doorway are painted Liao Dynasty-style murals featuring Vajra, disciples, and offering figures, with bright colors and lifelike figures. Multiple plaques from various dynasties hang under the eaves of each story of the wooden pagoda, two of which were written by Ming emperors and are particularly striking. Under the south eaves of the fifth story hangs the plaque "Supreme Divine Craftsmanship," written by Zhu Di, Emperor Chengzu of Ming, when he climbed the pagoda during a northern military campaign in the Yongle era; under the south eaves of the fourth story hangs the plaque "Wonder of the World," written by Zhu Houzhao, Emperor Wuzong of Ming, when he ascended the pagoda to feast and reward his ministers after the Yingzhou victory in the Zhengde era. These plaques are not only calligraphic treasures but also record the intersection of the wooden pagoda with historical figures, together with the architecture itself forming a distinctive cultural view of the attraction.China · Ying County

Daihai has attracted countless tourists since ancient times. Officials, scholars and poets of all dynasties have come to enjoy its natural beauty of "flocks of wild geese, strong winds and waves, waves more than ten feet high, like forests and heavy clouds". It is the largest inland lake in central Inner Mongolia, with a lake area of 160 square kilometers and 29 species of fish. The lake is surrounded by vast beaches and lush forests.

First of all, it's a pity that I didn't take more beautiful pictures. In fact, the real scenery is still good. The hot spring water is pure natural and the environment is very good. When we came, it was not a weekend and there were few people. The water was very clean and the food was very friendly. It is worth recommending! I will come again when the spring comes.

I'll say it three times: Don't take the cable car up there, it's pointless. The cable car only goes up to the 7th floor. In the time it takes you to queue, you can climb up to the 7th floor (the 8th floor is the highest point). Then you can climb directly to the 11th floor without backtracking, which only takes a little over two hours. From the 11th floor, you can take bus 899 back to the city.

The Yungang Grottoes are truly breathtaking! Standing at the foot of the open-air Buddha statue and looking up, I was instantly captivated by the majestic grandeur of the Northern Wei stone carvings. The details of the statues are exquisite and lifelike, with ingenious designs evident in every flying apsara and relief. The scenic area has excellent facilities, and the guided tours are very professional; only by listening can you truly understand the stories hidden within the stones. Seeing it with your own eyes is what it means to witness a thousand years in a glance. A must-see when visiting Datong!

The package deal was quite reasonable. We bought the Nanshan Route 1 ticket, but Route 1 includes the zoo, which requires going down the mountain to transfer to Route 2 to go up again, meaning we had to climb the mountain once more or take a ride on a tarpaulin, so we didn't go. The wind was best on the mountain, and the cosmos flowers around the cable car station were beautiful! The high-altitude swing, the thrilling "Step by Step" ride, and the rainbow slide were all very exciting! The middle school students had a great time! A single ride takes about 2 hours.

It's worth visiting. I went there when I was younger, but I lacked knowledge then. Now, the more I see, the more I appreciate it. The silver Buddha, dragon carvings, and murals are known as the "Three Wonders." The architecture blends Han and Tibetan styles, and the incense and ancient charm coexist. It's worth a thorough visit.

Huayan Temple is truly a must-see attraction in Datong! Occupying a prime location within the ancient city, its thousand-year-old architecture is breathtaking, especially the main halls, which are incredibly photogenic. I highly recommend hiring a guide to explore it thoroughly; it's truly awe-inspiring.

The Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, having withstood a thousand years of wind and rain, still stands majestically. Its exquisite architectural craftsmanship and profound historical significance are truly breathtaking. Only by visiting in person can one appreciate the greatness of the wisdom of the ancients; it is indeed a cultural treasure not to be missed.
