Vilnius Cathedral is located on the wide church square at the foot of Gediminas Mountain. It was built in 1387-1388. It was the first Gothic wooden church. After many restorations, it gradually merged with the Gothic style. , Renaissance and Baroque. There are three statues standing on the gable in front of the church, the one holding the cross in the middle is St. Anna, the one on the right is St. Kazimiras, and the one on the left is St. Stanislav. Next to the cathedral is the 52-meter-high bell tower, which is the watchtower of the ancient castle from the 13th to the 17th centuries, and contains 17 clocks. Oliwski Park

4.5
Oliwoski Park is a historic and picturesque park located in the Oliwa district of Gdansk, Poland. The park is charming with dense woods, colorful gardens and tranquil lakes, like an oasis in the city. Among them, the Baroque-style French garden is a highlight of the park, with carefully arranged flower beds, geometrically trimmed shrubs and two neat rows of lime trees, forming a "prince's landscape" and creating a dreamy visual effect. Extending eastward along the lime tree avenue, at the end is a pond surrounded by trees. From a certain angle, it seems to be connected to the Gdansk Bay several kilometers away. This road is also called "the road to eternity" by the monks. In addition to beautiful natural scenery, the park also has many cultural landscapes and entertainment facilities. There is the historic Oliwa Cathedral, whose interior is gorgeously decorated and often hosts cultural events such as the International Organ Music Festival.Poland · Gdansk

Hill of Crosses is a pilgrimage site 12 km north of the city of Siauliai. It is believed that the first crosses were placed at a former military bunker site after the Lithuanian uprising against Russia in November 1831. Over the centuries, Catholic pilgrims have placed many crosses here, as well as giant crucifixes, sculptures of Lithuanian patriots, statues of the Virgin Mary, and thousands of tiny effigies and rosaries, each cross representing an unyielding spirit, a noble soul, and the silent, defiant national character.Lithuania · Meskuiciu seniunija

Vecrīga

Although the total area of Vecrīga is not very large, it boasts over 800 years of history. Located in the Riga region of Latvia, Europe, it serves as both the geographical center of Riga and its historical and cultural center. Walking through it, you will find that the architectural styles and street layouts are much like those in Western European countries. From the Hanseatic League era, many historical landmarks remain here, such as the House of the Blackheads, along with many other historical traces. Although the name contains "Old Town," the "old" here refers to its long history, and the buildings themselves are far from "old." Each building holds its own against modern architecture, often possessing even more charm. Amber jewelry here is beautiful and quite famous. While the population is small, every Latvian is friendly and welcoming, always ready to answer travelers' questions, which is why this place is so popular with visitors.Latvia · Riga
St. Mary's Church

St. Mary's Church is the largest brick church in the world and is a Gothic structure. The church is 105.5m long and 66m wide. Unlike churches in Italy, it is not overly luxurious or flashy; it features deep red exterior walls, a towering spire, and heavy, ajar doors, giving it a simple yet substantial feel. The pipe organ inside is also very classical—magnificent yet refined. Climb the tower for a panoramic view of Gdansk, and you can even see the Baltic Sea in the distance.Poland · Gdansk

Long Market is not actually that long. It is a short street from the Golden Gate (Zlota Brama) to the Green Gate (Zielona Brama). As it was the route used by Polish kings for processions in the past, it is also known as the Royal Route. Long Market is lined with beautiful, historic buildings. The clock tower, the cathedral, and theOld Town Hallare located right by this square. There are many small shops selling amber products along the street, so the Long Market is also a great place to buy souvenirs.Poland · Gdansk

Unveiled in 1935, this monument is an important symbol of Latvia's freedom, independence, and sovereignty, built to commemorate the soldiers who died during the Latvian War of Independence (1918–1920). At the top of the monument, a young woman holds three stars, facing west, representing the three regions of Latvia: Kurzeme, Vidzeme, and Latgale. The inscription reads "For Fatherland and Freedom." The Freedom Monument is 42 meters high, and the carvings on it represent the history and culture of Latvia. Riga usually holds public gatherings and official ceremonies here. The changing of the guard ceremony in front of the monument is quite interesting, and you can watch it if you have time, but in winter or when the weather is bad, the soldiers only guard the monument in the morning.Latvia · Riga

St. Anne's Church was the cathedral of the region from the 14th century until the 19th century. The interior of the church is solemn and brilliant, with the main altar, fence and colorful brick decorations being exquisite. The church also houses an 18th-century silver chapel used in the local small Eucharistic celebrations.Lithuania · Senamiescio seniunija

This is the larger square of the old town of Riga and the center of the old town. There are many open-air restaurants and cafes around the square, and there is a sign that the old town of Riga is listed as a cultural heritage. If you want to take a panorama, try to get up early and come before the coffee shop is open. There are also the Palace of Black Heads and the Museum near the square, which can be visited.Latvia · Riga

Vilnius Cathedral is one of the most impressive landmarks in Lithuania, located in the heart of Vilnius. Its elegant classical architecture, spacious square, and beautiful surroundings create a peaceful and memorable atmosphere. I especially enjoyed walking around the cathedral and taking in the historic charm of the Old Town. The cathedral feels both grand and welcoming, making it a wonderful place for visitors interested in history, architecture, and culture. The nearby streets are perfect for a relaxing walk and photography. Whether visiting during the day or in the evening, Vilnius Cathedral offers a beautiful glimpse into Lithuania’s rich heritage and is definitely worth adding to any Vilnius itinerary.

The cobblestone streets of Riga's Old Town are worn smooth and shiny, with buildings on both sides blending Gothic, Baroque, and Art Nouveau styles. The red brick facade of the Blackhead Palace stands out in the square, while the church spire peeks out from the alleyway beside it. The houses along the Daugava River are newer than those in the Old Town, and the cafes along the riverbank are bustling in the afternoons, with boats slowly passing by on the water. In winter, the Old Town becomes much quieter, and when the snow covers the rooftops, it's as serene as an old photograph. Actually, the Old Town isn't very big; you can easily find your way around it after a few walks, and every detail offers something new to discover.

In winter, you can go to the mountains to see the icicles. The trails are well-maintained and have anti-slip mats, so you don't have to worry about slipping. The trees are covered with glistening icicles, which shimmer with a bluish light when the sunlight shines through, making them look like the trees are blooming with crystal flowers. It's especially beautiful. Villagers sell hot tea eggs by the roadside for three yuan each. They're warm to hold in your hand. You can stroll around at your own pace and take pictures without feeling crowded at all. It's much more impressive than the pictures you see online. After walking around, you feel refreshed and relaxed. It's much more comfortable than staying at home.

There are not many Gothic buildings in Vilnius, and St. Anne's Church is one of them. Please pay attention to the opening hours. I went there in the evening and it was closed.
