Very nice tour of the different islands and our tour guide was super nice and informative! We have the afternoon tour still to do but I am sure it will also be fabulous!

Visiting the three islands, Murano, Burano, and Torcello, is excellent...best done in good weather, but it's also possible in December under a hazy sun.

We took the excursion to the islands of Murano and Burano. We opted for only two islands since we wanted to use the rest of the afternoon to visit Venice. We booked the tour at the hotel - we took the first boat near Burger King and Nike. The first part of the trip was along the outside of the lagoon without much history until St. Mark's Square. After that, we left that boat for a larger, two-story one. On that boat, we went straight to Murano - "straight" isn't quite the right term because, given the size of the boat, we took a huge detour around the lagoon. Arriving in Murano, we went straight to the factory, saw the demonstration, and went into the factory shop where we had 30 minutes to see the island. In other words, we didn't see much. After that, we went to Burano - we had 1 hour to go shopping, visit, and eat something. The island is very picturesque and beautiful with its colorful houses. When the time was up, we went back to St. Mark's Square. Most of the time spent on the "visit" is by boat. On the islands, it's very short. If we go to Venice again, we'll definitely take the Vaporetto directly. We recommend the visit, but we don't know if it will be the best option.

We enjoyed a lovely trip to Murano & Burano. The boat was beautiful and an enjoyable fast ride to the islands. Sylvia was fun and informative sharing local history and giving great local suggestions. We would have liked the trip to be longer, as we felt a bit rushed especially if having a nice lunch. Burano was so nice I wanted to look round for longer.
