It worked perfectly on the Beijing - Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc - Pattaya - Kuala Lumpur route. 5G is available almost everywhere. I only went over my data limit one day, and the connection practically stopped. But that was my own fault – I'd downloaded a phone update. I bought a 30-day plan with a gigabyte per day, and I used about 10 gigabytes. The website has a clear data usage report for each day. I'll use the same plan next time I travel to Asia.
