This is my minimalist eSIM experience during my trip to Japan:
* **Installation:** Simply scan the QR code before departure to complete the setup. After landing, turn off airplane mode and connect instantly. No need to manually insert the SIM card ejector tool – pure elegance!
* **Network Speed:** Using the native network, the signal was consistently strong, whether browsing maps in Tokyo or navigating while driving in Okinawa. Low latency made searching for information very smooth.
* **Advantages:** It allows you to retain your Taiwan mobile number for receiving SMS messages (a lifesaver for bank verification codes), eliminating the need to carry an extra Wi-Fi device or worry about losing the SIM card.
* **Disadvantages:** Your phone must support eSIM functionality, and it cannot be easily deleted after installation. It's highly recommended to save a screenshot of the original QR code just in case.
**Summary:** Once you've used it, you won't want to go back. It's an essential part of modern travel in Japan.★

I travel to Türkiye, Chile, Argentina and Brazil using this eSIM. The connection and automatically switch to local telco provider upon crossing borders were all very smooth, and data roaming also very smooth. I've been to Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, Hirashima, Tokyo. Arima Onsen had 5G everywhere, and in some places, except for Arima Onsen, there was excellent 4G. Excellent esim.★

Personally, I use a Vivo X300, and it's very easy to use. Just scan the QR code before boarding in Thailand to use the internet and retrieve eSIM information. Once landing, simply activate it as usual and it connects to the internet without needing any further settings.
