Reviews: Nagano: Snow Monkeys, Zenkoji Temple & Sake Day Trip
Guest User2026-03-31
This tour was very well organised with friendly and competent guides. Tom and Graham took fantastic care of us, providing our group with interesting and relevant information whilst ensuring we got the most out of our tour. The lunch was fresh and delicious and the snow monkeys were delightful. Special mention to Tom who personally assisted our elderly mother all the way up the trail so she could see the monkeys. Such kindness and consideration resulted in a very special memory for her and our family. One of the best tours we have ever been on.

We had a wonderful time walking and talking with Masa. We had never been to Nagano before and this was a great way to briefly see the area and enjoy some of the local sights and flavors while learning some of the history of the area. I highly recommend this tour when visiting Nagano.

It was very good. The guide communicated clearly, took care of everyone, and provided valuable information about the history of the towns and their inhabitants. Highly recommended. It would be great if such tours could be offered in multiple languages in the future, such as Spanish.
Reviews: Nagano/Matsumoto: Matsumoto Castle and Narai-juku Day Trip
Guest User2026-02-26
I had the most perfect day! Endo San, our tour guide, is a retired professor which makes him the most incredible and knowledgeable tour guide. As one of the only remaining original castles from the Edo period, the Matsumoto Castle is a must visit for anyone that admires history. Visiting a traditional town and home in Narai-juku was a dream. I would recommend not missing the headless Virgen Mary, now a Shinto shrine, but also done so Christians that had to keep their religion hidden could visit during the 1700's. I hope you are lucky enough to have Endo San take you out for one of the most insightful visits I have had while in Japan!!!
