The highlight of our Bulgaria trip! We were worried about whether the experience would be worth it considering it is about 3h30 drive from Sofia (so 7h both ways), but it was absolutely incredible. The rocks/fortress are incredible but the best part is the view at the top of them, simply breathtaking! Pictures don't do it justice at all. Our driver and guide Ventsislav was so great and accommodating, as well as knowledgeable. He knew a lot about the rocks, fortress and the good spots for pictures or interesting facts. The experience also felt very private in a way as you share it with a group of 5-7 people, so that's an added bonus. We ended up visiting the Magura cave as the Venetsa Cave was closed, and it was very impressive and enjoyable. Absolutely no negatives about the day overall and well worth the time and money. 10/10, absolutely recommend and a must-do!

A spectacular day. The bus is comfortable and the explanation is simple, given by a very friendly guide. You have plenty of time to hike up and down and enjoy the seven lakes. It's a very special place. The visit to the monastery is wonderful. You also have plenty of time to do it and the guide gives great tips. You return to Sofia at night tired but very happy. 100% recommended.

Really recommend this trip! Our tour guide Apostolos was very friendly and a very safe driver. We had ample time to visit the monestary and the mountain. We also had the opportunity to rent out snow boots at the bottom of the mountain, which we very much needed as snow was deep on the mountain this December. Overall, a trip that is definetly worth the while!

The trip was very well organized and interesting. Plovdiv is truly a wonderful city, frozen in time. The atmosphere is authentic and memorable, and it was very interesting to see the artisans at work, the Roman ruins, and the beautiful churches. Our guide, Maria, was very engaging and friendly, and she told us about various customs unique to the Bulgarian people and their city. The day was truly enjoyable, and I highly recommend it for a day trip from Sofia.
