Anfield in Liverpool holds no less significance for the Kop (the nickname for Liverpool FC fans) than Old Trafford does for Manchester United supporters. The history of Anfield serving Liverpool FC dates back over 100 years. Built in 1884, it was initially owned by Everton FC. In 1892, the club left due to an inability to pay the high rent, and Liverpool FC was established that May. Since then, Anfield has been their home ground, unchanged. Over its 120-year history, Anfield has witnessed all the glorious moments. This football theatre of dreams has four stands, with the Kop stand being the most important, reserved for loyal Liverpool fans. The stand built to celebrate the club's centenary is now named after legendary figure Kenny Dalglish. The Anfield Road stand is primarily for visiting fans. After two rounds of expansions to the main stand and Anfield Road stand, the stadium now accommodates over 60,000 spectators.Liverpool · 6.6km from Birkenhead

Albert Dock brings us not only the memories of Liverpool's past as a maritime trading port, but also the incomparable nostalgia and intoxication for the Beatles. The Beatles are a British rock band. They have multi-style innovations in musical techniques, sold hundreds of millions of records worldwide, won 8 Grammy Awards, and were awarded the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II in 1965. Using "immortal legend" to describe the Beatles is a little pale. Years later, this British rock band has been regarded as a great band in the history of world rock music. Although the death of the band's soul John Lennon made the resurrection of the Beatles a dream that could never be realized, their music still remains Infecting the world, touching people's heartstrings, the enthusiasm of fans has also increased. In the Beatles Memorial, you can see guitars, microphones, iconic glasses and even his manuscripts and autographed photos used by the band's soul frontman John Lennon, and the museum displays songs from The Beatles from the obscure pub Every step of the star journey to the glorious FlowerGeneration period. The classic song "Image" echoed in the pavilion, and I believe that many people could not help but sigh for John Lennon, an unsurpassed genius in the music industry. You can also buy a lot of Beatles souvenirs in the museum, such as badges, commemorative shirts, guitar picks, etc. Visitors can also sign up for the "Legend Tour" and take a sightseeing bus to get a thorough understanding of the places related to the Beatles. everything about them.Liverpool · 2.8km from Birkenhead

Royal Albert Dock Liverpool is a must-visit attraction in Liverpool and is a heritage building protected by United Kingdom law. In 1846, Prince Albert praised the construction of the dock at its opening ceremony. It was the world's first enclosed, fireproof dock and was once considered one of the most technologically advanced docks in the world. Its existence contributed significantly to Liverpool becoming an international port. Architectural historian Patrick Nuttgens called Royal Albert Dock Liverpool a masterpiece of industrial architecture. However, due to the gradual decline of maritime trade, the dock went from prosperity to decline starting in the late 19th century, gradually losing its original functionality. Due to the United Kingdom's protection of national industrial architectural heritage, it was developed into a complex leisure and tourism attraction that integrates museums and dining. Here, you can visit the Maritime Museum to explore Liverpool's maritime trade history, immerse yourself in the artistic atmosphere of Tate Liverpool, and even have a classic encounter with The Beatles. You might want to head to The Beatles Story to travel back to that golden age. Or, simply relax on a bench by the waterfront; with sunshine and seagulls, it is quite simple and beautiful.Liverpool · 2.8km from Birkenhead

Liverpool Cathedral

Liverpool Cathedral is the largest Church of England cathedral in the United Kingdom, also known as the Liverpool Cathedral. It is the fifth-largest cathedral in the world, and its architectural style combines traditional Gothic with a more modern, monumental style. The single-tower design was an innovation at the time; the tower stands 101m tall and houses the third-largest bell in the world. It is worth mentioning that this magnificent and solemn religious building was designed by a 22-year-old. In 1902, 22-year-old Giles Gilbert Scott won the design competition for Liverpool Cathedral. Although it sparked some controversy at the time, Scott's family background—his father and grandfather had both designed and built many churches—ensured his expertise in the Gothic style, preventing the project from being shelved. King Edward VII laid the foundation stone in 1904, and construction began. However, due to the country's economic downturn and the impact of the World Wars, the main body of the cathedral was not officially completed until 1978, 76 years later, with Queen Elizabeth II attending the completion ceremony. Sadly, Scott passed away in 1960 and did not live to see his work completed. However, Scott did not just leave behind this beautiful cathedral; London's iconic red telephone box was also his creation. To this day, Liverpool Cathedral remains an outstanding example of church architecture, attracting many visitors every year. The magnificent stained glass windows inside depict stories from the Bible, and it also houses the world's largest and heaviest pipe organ, with a total of 9,765 pipes. On a clear day, you can climb the Albert Memorial Clock to enjoy a panoramic view of the city.Liverpool · 3.9km from Birkenhead

Nearly 600,000 tourists visit Liverpool each year because of The Beatles, generating over £20 million in economic benefits and significantly boosting local tourism. The Beatles have become a cultural icon of Liverpool. The bar where they performed during their early days before fame, The Cavern Club, is one of the pilgrimage sites for rock music fans. Here, the four band members passionately performed 292 concerts, pouring their youth into music and writing their life story. What was once a simple, ordinary basement became a world-famous bar thanks to this legendary band. The bar is located on Mathew St. Mathew St is not long, only about 200m, but it is lined with bars of all sizes. Besides The Cavern Club, there are many other pubs that The Beatles members frequented. At 10 Mathew St, walk down 18 steps, and you'll be surrounded by The Beatles' memorabilia. The bar has remained largely unchanged, maintaining a vintage feel, and it preserves many items the band used, such as sheet music and performance photos. Outside the bar on the street, there is a sign that reads "Four lads that shocked the world," which is a bit bittersweet, lamenting that Lennon is gone. We can only remember and look back, but can no longer hear their passionate, authentic legend come to life again.Liverpool · 3.4km from Birkenhead

This is a pilgrimage, as a Liverpool fan. No matter how this journey is perceived by others, it is a perfect one in my heart. Especially when I passed through the player tunnel and saw the sign of Anfield, my heart was filled with emotion. When I stood on the stadium and closed my eyes, I could imagine the bustling crowds here on match days.

There were many photos I'd never seen before and items actually used by the band members, making it a truly impressive exhibition. You can really get a feel for what it was like back then. It was filled with respect not only for John, Paul, George, and Ringo, but also for former members Stuart and Pete, and for other people from Liverpool who have achieved success in various fields. I hope the museum's exhibits will be preserved for a long time to come and be seen by many people.

This church looks ordinary from the outside, but you will be amazed once you enter. It feels very beautiful as soon as you enter. It is super big inside. It is recommended to come here on Sundays. There will be a choir every Sunday. You can pray with the locals and feel the atmosphere.

Liverpool is world-famous for its music. As the hometown of the Beatles, Liverpool is rated as the "World Capital of Pop Music". The Beatles started their rock career here. The Cavern Bar, as the place where the Beatles first performed on stage, has become a pilgrimage site for rock fans. I felt like I was instantly back in college when I went to the bar to listen to the band's performances.

Spent an afternoon here with my family and loved it. Any aspect of the history of Liverpool you would wish to know about is covered in this huge venue. Well laid out exhibits which work well for kids and adults. The transport and social/health areas were particular highlights for us. Clean, well ventilated and never felt at all crowded so a good pick for an outing in these times of covid.
