"Location- walking distance to the NJ shopping district. (Easy to navigate, 10mins slow walk)
Staff- Very helpful with luggages, parcel locate. Service recovery was prompt- room had ventilation issue. Service man came once in the day, and reassured us it’s normal. However comparison to our friends’ rooms, air flow was different. We called service desk at 11ish, despite an aloof response from a female staff, the guy who later attended was prompt to offer a change of room immediately on checking out the situation. I requested for assistance for our friend who has fallen ill with their luggages, they were able to assist.
Space- very spacious.
Hotel has affiliated transport company- transfer to airport was cheaper than Didi and ride was comfortable.
Setback:
Flight of stairs up the hotel lobby. Not easy to climb for elderly or those with leg issues.
Toilet area is open concept. When dressing, can be inconvenient if traveling with friends."

The room is big and clean. The cons is it is directly across the road in front of the hotel and need to quick to get out from Didi since that there is no waiting area for didi."

I stayed at level 12 and the housekeeper was very friendly. Always greeting us with a smile and asking if we need to have our room clean up.

"Over 20 years ago, I watched the Jin Mao Tower being built, becoming one of Shanghai's iconic landmarks of that era – truly a golden age of economic growth. This time, I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Jin Mao (I remember it used to be called Jin Mao Hyatt). From the ground floor entrance to the lobby on the 54th floor, it exuded old money charm. The staff were well-trained and professional. The facilities in the room had a vintage feel, and the fully transparent washbasin was a pioneering design for its time. Standing by the window, I could clearly see the distant IFC, Oriental Pearl Tower, and the Bund architectural complex across the Huangpu River. It happened to be Christmas Eve, and both inside and outside the hotel, there were beautifully decorated Christmas trees. There were many foreign tourists coming and going, and everyone who visited seemed to genuinely experience the charm of Shanghai."

"The front desk service at Kempinski perfectly embodies the quality of a five-star hotel! I accidentally booked the wrong check-in date before departure. When I contacted the Lady in red Eva in advance to communicate, she patiently verified the information, actively helped coordinate the change, and maintained a gentle attitude throughout without the slightest impatience.
Upon arrival, she even took the initiative to upgrade me to a higher-floor room. She explained the room facilities in detail and comprehensively, even going through each free drink in the minibar one by one. Later, when I wanted to book the hotel's fitness center, front desk staff Mia immediately helped confirm the reservation and informed me.
From the pre-arrival communication to check-in and check-out, I experienced professional and thoughtful service at every step. The professional quality and service awareness of the staff are worthy of praise. I highly recommend it to every friend visiting Shanghai!"

Shanghai still has a significant temperature difference between morning and evening, and it gets really cold in the park~
**What to wear:** Dress warmly! It's especially chilly in the morning and evening.
**Shoes:** Pick your most comfortable pair; you'll easily walk over 20,000 steps in a day.
**Must-have items:**
✅ Thermos
✅ Power bank
✅ Snacks (to refuel while queuing)
✅ ID, sunscreen, umbrella, disposable seat cushion (super useful when waiting for fireworks)
Now for the accommodation:
The hotel is right near Disneyland, and the service is excellent. They offer free pick-up and drop-off from the subway station or Pudong Airport, directly to the hotel entrance. It's about a 20-minute drive to Disneyland, with shuttle services in the morning and evening. They even pick you up from the park after the fireworks show. The evening shuttle had snacks, brown sugar ginger tea, and small drinks, and they even prepared a foot bath for us, placing it in our room beforehand. There's also a laundry room on the first floor, and they thoughtfully delivered our clean clothes back to our room.
The room's floor-to-ceiling windows offered great natural light and views of the outside scenery. The bedding was comfortable, and facilities were complete. The bathroom had a wet/dry separation. Both the room and the lobby had a great ambiance. The room also featured a huge full-length mirror, which every girl loves! ❤️❤️ They provided free breakfast and late-night snacks. On check-out day, we asked the front desk if we could have a late check-out, and they extended it for us until 2 PM. The hotel breakfast was rich and delicious 😋, perfect for fueling up before heading to Disneyland. The hotel shuttle also had a Disneyland guide, and the service was very attentive and excellent! Even food deliveries were brought directly to our room door. Service is 100%! I'd definitely stay here again next time I visit Disneyland. [Happy face emoji]

MM346363****Our stay at this hotel was fantastic! They offer a free shuttle service to Disneyland with convenient timings at 6:20 AM, 7:30 AM, and 9:00 AM. They also provide complimentary, on-demand pick-up and drop-off service to the subway station. The breakfast was delicious and had a great variety, including fresh-made eggs, mini wontons, and freshly baked egg tarts. In the evenings, they offer a free late-night snack service with options like noodles, vermicelli, sweet soups, and congee – highly appreciated! 👍👍👍
Upon check-out, they even prepared a snack bag and building blocks for the kids. The hotel lobby on the first floor also has a children's play area. If we couldn't make it for breakfast, they'd pack it for us without hesitation, carefully preparing a generous selection of food (milk, bread, fruit, eggs, egg tarts, pancakes, and snacks)!!! They were incredibly enthusiastic, even bringing it to the lobby for us. When they picked us up from Disneyland in the evening, they had ginger cola and jujube longan tea ready, along with duck-shaped bread and walnut biscuits to tide us over. It was truly a lifesaver in the cold winter; the service at Maxwell International Hotel kept us warm. 👍👍👍 As soon as we returned in the evening, they directed us to the late-night snack bar. Later, when my child wanted milk, the front desk even brought warm milk to our room before bedtime. This level of service is absolutely top-notch! 👌👌👌
The hotel facilities are very comprehensive, comfortable, and spacious! The soundproofing in the room was excellent, allowing for a quiet and peaceful sleep. The heating from the air conditioning was superb, and the bathroom's automatic ventilation worked well, ensuring good air circulation in the room. The cleaning staff proactively tidied our room every day, even washing our dirty clothes and returning them to the room. They meticulously cleared all our trash and kept the floors impeccably clean. The bedding was changed daily, which was wonderful. 👍👍👍
All the hotel staff were incredibly warm and thoughtful, making us feel right at home. From the cleaning ladies to the front desk and all the restaurant staff, everyone was exceptional. The environment is beautiful, with a stunning Christmas tree on the first floor that's perfect for photos. The Santa Claus stickers at the entrance also make for great photo opportunities. The hotel is conveniently located next to Wanda Plaza, the subway station, and a lively pedestrian street night market. Shopping at Wanda Jinjie is also very easy. Transportation from the hotel is super convenient; a taxi takes just a few minutes, 24/7. The second floor of the hotel also boasts a SPA, wellness center, private dining options, large conference rooms, and banquet halls, making the facilities incredibly comprehensive. It's a fantastic choice for family trips, friends' getaways, business travel, and couples. I've already recommended it to my friends and will definitely be back!

ББатаI was a guest in this hotel, between December 22 and 27. I booked an Elegant Queen Room. However, I have to say that there is not much elegant about it. There are no slippers in the room. Air conditioners external units are placed literally two meters from your windows, and as you can see, and there are so many of them. I strongly recommend buying earplugs before checking in. The room was 517, so if possible please avoid it. One more thing. Me and my partner had sexual intercourse, and in one moment, I saw a person one floor above, clearly visible through the windows. That's not even other apartment, it is some unfinished space, that looks ruined. The curtains simply were not fully pulled, my mistake, but I didn't expect to see random person above 😅 There is no locker, so your things would have to be placed all over the room.
Staff is very nice, and super kind. Expect warm welcome every time you move by reception desk. I bought some sausages in local market, and I asked the staff if they would keep it in the fridge for me. They accepted. However, I forgot to take it when I checked out. I asked them if they could send me the package to my city, and they did it promptly. Good service, truly.
The breakfast is one of the best I have ever seen in a hotel.
Location is very close to the Bund, Financial center, and subway station (line 14, Yuanshen Road) is almost opposite the hotel.
All together, room is definitely subpar, and it doesn't justify the price. Everything else is near perfect.

AAnnisidelvxingbijiFacilities: Compared to some of the hotels in the old Bund area, Banyan Tree is a newcomer, so the overall facilities are newer. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, all over 60 square meters, which is excellent for this location.
Service: When checking in, since there weren't two adjacent rooms available in our original booking (we were a family of 4 adults and 1 child), they proactively upgraded our room type. The service during our stay was also very attentive. As it was my husband's and mother-in-law's birthdays the day before and the last day of our stay, respectively, they even sent us a small cake, which was a very thoughtful touch.
Ambiance: With Christmas approaching, the hotel already had a strong festive atmosphere, especially the Christmas tree in the garden. It looked absolutely beautiful when lit up at night and was perfect for photos, haha.

WWillSumService: Pretty speechless about the front desk and the gym.
During check-in, I asked if I could use my Shangri-La points. I was told that since my room was prepaid, points could only be redeemed online. After asking a few more times, the answer was still that the room was prepaid. However, I later confirmed that points could actually be used for dining, which meant I ended up paying extra cash for that.
When leaving, I emphasized that there was still someone in the room and asked if I should return the room card to the front desk first. They insisted repeatedly, ”You can leave the room card in the room.” I then added, ”So I have to go back to the 31st floor, come down, and then leave?” They replied, ”Yes, you can do that.” I really don't understand if there's something wrong with my Chinese.
The gym was also a hassle. You just walk through it without using it. After checking in on the left, you have to check in again at the counter on the right. Then, I realized I'd forgotten something, and when I tried to go back in a minute later, I had to check in again. I truly don't understand how this management works. When I questioned it, they just said it was ”management requirements.” This is the first time I've seen anything like this in thousands of hotels.

Facilities: I walked past the gym and it seemed to have a lot of equipment. The pool is also quite large, and the Christmas decorations in the lobby were quite cozy.
Hygiene: My room was on the top floor with a great view of the ”three pieces” (toiletries). The hygiene was generally good, though some corner maintenance could be improved.

The newly renovated room was clean and tidy, and the surrounding facilities were complete with restaurants, convenience stores, and a subway station – everything you could need! Plus, the airport pick-up service was available on demand, which was super convenient as I didn't have to worry about timing. I was traveling alone with my child, and the hotel staff were incredibly helpful. All I can say is, it was absolutely amazing, absolutely amazing!

__WeChat285352****The hotel's service and environment are both excellent. Jiaojiao at the front desk was very helpful during check-in and even arranged a room with an exterior window for me. The room facing the residential area had great natural light, and the room itself was very nice. After checking out, I could just send my information directly to Jiaojiao to get the invoice, and she would send me the e-invoice, which was very convenient. Jiaojiao also informed me that the hotel offers a free shuttle service to Tangzhen Metro Station every hour. She even helped me with my luggage onto the shuttle, which was great service. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next business trip; it offers great value for money and excellent service.

The front desk service was particularly impressive; the staff were not only friendly but also incredibly efficient. The check-in process—verifying information, entering it into the system, and explaining hotel policies—took less than 5 minutes. When they learned it was our first time in the city, they even pulled out a printed guide to local attractions, detailing must-see spots and local specialty restaurants. They even thoughtfully marked peak travel times to avoid and recommended transportation methods. Their thoughtfulness instantly made us even more excited for our upcoming itinerary.

The toiletries were custom-branded by the hotel, with a fresh, elegant scent and rich lather, leaving my skin feeling moisturized after showering. The hot water supply was stable, with good water pressure, and the temperature could be precisely adjusted. A comfortable hot shower after a day of sightseeing washed away all the fatigue. Plus, the bathroom also provided disposable toiletries, showing great attention to detail.

The staff promptly refilled food items to ensure every guest enjoyed fresh meals, and they actively inquired about our needs during dining, providing exceptional service.
Furthermore, the hotel's location is excellent, just 3.1 kilometers from the subway, making it convenient to reach various attractions and shopping areas. There are also supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants nearby, so daily shopping and dining are hassle-free. The surrounding environment is quiet, completely free from external noise, offering a truly pleasant stay.
