The environment was also very comfortable, and the staff were incredibly enthusiastic. The location was a bit hard to find, but there was staff to help with luggage. "Highly recommend! This hotel offers excellent value for money. The location is superb, with Raffles City and Hongyadong nearby, and a metro station right downstairs, which is incredibly convenient. Although the hotel doesn't provide breakfast, there's a whole street of food stalls right below. I genuinely recommend everyone to stay here!"

"This hotel is nestled in the heart of Xiahaoli, a beautifully renovated century-old Western-style building. During the jacaranda season, I silently wished on my way there, and incredibly, I was assigned a room with views of both the blooming flowers and the river! It perfectly captured the民國 (Republic of China) era aesthetic I love. The staff were also incredibly friendly, and they even have adorable pets named Laikai and Caicai. The afternoon tea pastries and sparkling juice were absolutely fantastic. On one side, you have the high-rise river views, and on the other, the stilt houses nestled under hundred-year-old banyan trees – a seamless blend of old and new. This is Xiahaoli. There are also some charming independent shops here; I even picked up a tea set and some delicious local food."

"After comparing a few options, here are my thoughts: I really liked the Regent's Chinese-inspired style – very elegant and grand. However, the room rates were too high, and river view rooms even more so. Next up was the InterContinental. The views of the Bund and the river were perfect, but the room decor was a bit plain and uninspiring, and the price was also on the higher side. Then there were places like the Indigo and various other modern, high-rise hotels with river views; their postmodern style just isn't for me. So, why did I end up choosing the Westin? It was a balanced decision. The room had a decent elevation and a respectable river view. The price increase during the Dragon Boat Festival was acceptable, and the Executive Room offered afternoon tea and light meals, saving me the hassle of finding food outside. There were some downsides though: The afternoon tea was too simple (only three types of small cakes, and ordinary fruit). The light meals seemed designed to make you wonder if you'd forgotten breakfast, with half the items being breakfast foods. For protein, there was only chicken breast – they really cut corners on cost! It was the worst executive lounge I've experienced in any hotel. Breakfast was good, though. I was happy with the Western bread and cheese. The Chinese section was quite mediocre, perhaps because this hotel has more foreign guests than domestic ones. The room itself was fine, but there were no proper facilities for boiling water and making tea; I had to make do at the washbasin."

"This hotel has unique decor. I booked a river-view room with a private hot spring. Being on a high floor, the view outside was expansive, and the night scenery was especially beautiful. You can enjoy a bath right in your room. The lobby is on the fourth floor, and the staff were very friendly. Upon check-in, we received a small gift package containing snacks and a fridge magnet. The room was fully stocked with drinking water, beverages, tea, and coffee."

"Good value stay. Room is super comfortable and quiet. Executive lounge is relatively small but has a good variety of food and drinks. Breakfast is huge but area can get packed on holidays so you don’t want to seat too near the food. Location is not exactly center of the city, but close enough on a quieter, niecer neighborhood. Would stay again."

"The room was quite spacious and very clean, plus it had a washing machine, one per room! The location is excellent; it's mostly downhill to get to the attractions from the hotel, so no strenuous effort required. The night view from the window was amazing, with a great orientation providing river views. And for this price, the value for money is incredibly high! I highly recommend it. There are also plenty of elevators in the building, so even though it's a high floor, there was no waiting or crowding."

"I found this French-designed B&B online and absolutely loved the style. The original date I wanted to stay was fully booked for double rooms, so I deliberately postponed my trip to experience it, and it was totally worth it! I'll definitely visit Chongqing again and will choose this place next time. **Location** The B&B's location is superb, right near the entrance to the Shibati scenic area. It's only a 10-20 minute walk to nearby attractions like Jiefangbei, Hongyadong, Shancheng Alley, Baixiang Street, and the Yangtze River Cableway. It's also about a 12-minute walk to Jiaochangkou subway station, making it super convenient for tourists to reach places like Zhongshan Fourth Road, the Three Gorges Museum, and Huguang Guild Hall with just a few subway stops. **Facilities** This B&B is converted from an old building within the former French Consulate complex, retaining its French architectural characteristics. The rooms are also designed in a French style – minimalist and comfortable. The bedding is cozy, the toilet is smart and flushes automatically, and the drying rack above the toilet is excellent, especially useful in humid Chongqing. The mini-fridge offers complimentary drinks that are replenished daily. The shower, sink, and toilet areas are separate, so they don't interfere with each other, which is very convenient for guests staying in pairs or threes. From the entrance, reception, and elevator to the rooftop garden, every detail reflects thoughtful design. The rooftop garden offers views of Shibati, which looks even better at night when the area is lit up. The B&B has its own restaurant on the ground floor, which is also where breakfast is served. One evening, after a tiring day of sightseeing, we didn't want to go out, so we just ate at the restaurant, which was very convenient. **Hygiene** The room was clean and tidy, cleaned daily with replenished supplies, and even provided disposable face towels. **Service** The service was excellent, with staff showing great service awareness and attitude. They offered practical and thoughtful sightseeing tips. They proactively contacted me the day before check-in, came out to greet me and helped with luggage upon arrival, and also helped with luggage when I left. We enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea on the day of our check-in. For breakfast, there are three set menu options: Chinese, Western, and Chongqing noodles. They'll ask you via WeChat the day before which one you'd prefer. The portions are generous; I could never finish it all."
