[2025 New York Hotels] Travel guide for Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Times Square (updated Dec)

We stayed here for approximately four nights. Overall, our experience was pleasant, so I rated it 4 stars, but I'm uncertain if I’d return unless updates were made. Our room was spacious, equipped with a small kitchenette, and offered a high-floor view over 5th Ave, where we could see the Radio City Music Hall sign. Everything in the room functioned properly, though the air conditioning never cooled the room sufficiently. The rooms are quite dark and need renovations, as do the halls. The elevators, too, appeared to be very slow. Nevertheless, the location is convenient, being close to the subway and within walking distance of key attractions like Bryant Park, the library, Times Square, Central Park, and 5th Ave. The breakfast selections were varied, catering to everyone, and the staff worked diligently to maintain service during busy times. All this considered, it's a reliable hotel that offers good value for budget-conscious families. I'd be eager to stay again if they renovate/update. It served well as a base to explore New York City.

This time I mainly stayed near Times Square, just strolling around the area~ 1, St. Patrick's Cathedral and Rockefeller Center are next to each other. The church is really big and can accommodate many people, so I took a curious turn. 2, It is said that you can also go to the top of the Rockefeller Center to overlook Manhattan. 3, The Empire State Building is the main place I wanted to go this time, because I haven't been able to go before. It's best to buy tickets in advance, which is cheaper. We didn't buy in advance, we bought directly at the scene on the 86th floor, which is an open-air viewing platform. During the sunset period, it costs about 450 RMB. The 102nd floor is newly built, with floor-to-ceiling windows. But there will be reflections when taking pictures at night, and it's very expensive, so we just went to the 86th floor. The sunset and the bright lights are very spectacular, overlooking the prosperity of the whole Manhattan, highly recommended, worth a visit. It's just that the wind is very strong up there, a bit cold. 4, The New York Public Library is the largest municipal library in the United States.
