Yueyang Tower is a charming treasure.

Located in Yueyang, Hunan, Yueyang Tower is one of the three great towers of Jiangnan, along with Yellow Crane Tower and Pavilion of Prince Teng. It was first built in 215 AD during the Eastern Han Dynasty as a military observation tower for the general Lu Su of the Eastern Wu Kingdom. It has been repaired many times over the years, and the current building follows the style of the one built in 1880. Yueyang Tower became famous when the Northern Song Dynasty official Teng Zijing rebuilt it and asked Fan Zhongyan to write the "Memorial to Yueyang Tower." The tower is 19.42 meters tall, with three stories, four columns, flying eaves, and a helmet-shaped roof, all made of wood.
