|Huishan Ancient Town. Located in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, Huishan Ancient Town has a long history and rich cultural heritage. It is the origin of Wuxi's place names, and there is a saying that "Wuxi Xishan Mountain has no tin." Unique architecture: The ancient town is characterized by a dense distribution of ancient ancestral halls. It is the only project in Wuxi that meets the criteria for applying for World Cultural Heritage status. The ancestral halls are mainly concentrated along the Longtou River and Zhijie Street, with the Yang Oufang Ancestral Hall incorporating Western architectural styles. Natural scenery: The ancient town is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with beautiful scenery. The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal flows through the northern side. The scenic area includes Xishan and Huishan mountains, offering beautiful natural scenery. Food culture: The ancient town is home to many delicious foods. Huishan tofu pudding has a delicate texture and is served with a special sauce, making it very tasty. Yiqinyuan soup dumplings were featured on "A Bite of China." They have thin skin, a large filling, and delicious soup. There are also famous dishes such as Wuxi ribs and Sanfengqiao braised ribs. Traditional crafts: Huishan clay figurines are a local specialty, and there are also intangible cultural heritage items such as tin embroidery and bamboo carving, which have a strong Jiangnan Wu culture flavor. Zones: The ancient town is divided into four tourist areas: the historical and cultural district, the cultural relics district, the Xihui scenic area, and the mountain forest protection area. The historical and cultural district is open to the public for free. A joint ticket for the cultural relics district and the Xihui scenic area costs CNY 70, and a separate ticket for Xihui Park costs CNY 10. Transportation: You can take Wuxi Metro Line 4 to Huishan Ancient Town Station; or take a bus such as No. 4, 15, 43, 611, or 75 to Huishan Station. Tour route: In the morning, visit the ancient buildings, such as Huishan Temple and Jichang Garden. At noon, try local delicacies such as soup dumplings and Wuxi ribs.
