Shanxi's very own space station!

Located in Jinyuan District, Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, Taiyuan Botanical Garden is the first ecological botanical garden in Taiyuan, covering an area of more than 2,700 mu. The park is divided into five functional areas, including the entrance management area, plant science classification area, plant science application area, plant evolution exhibition area, and scientific experiment area. The construction of Taiyuan Botanical Garden not only improves the local environment, but also becomes a comprehensive botanical garden integrating scientific research, science education, tourism, ecological leisure, and cultural tourism. The main building of the botanical garden is three "dewdrop"-shaped greenhouses, which respectively display tropical rainforests, desert plants, and rare flowers. The tropical rainforest pavilion has a super-high indoor waterfall, while the desert plant pavilion has giant cacti, creating a strong exotic atmosphere. In addition, the "Time Escalator" in the botanical garden is like a time tunnel under the lights at night, which is very charming. The ticket price for Taiyuan Botanical Garden is CNY 50 per person in peak season (April 1 to October 31) and CNY 30 per person in off-season (November 1 to March 31 of the following year). Opening hours are from 9:00 to 19:00 every day. Visitors can take bus No. 308 or 310 to the botanical garden, or drive there. Other attractions around the botanical garden are recommended, such as Taishan, Jinci Temple, Shanxi Museum, and Jinshang Museum.
