Winter in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province

☁️Weather: The weather in Taiyuan is quite cold in November and December. Remember to bring enough clothes. It usually snows in December. Bring a thick coat and a down jacket! 5-day, 4-night itinerary in Shanxi Province: Day 1 Since it was Monday, I went to the art museum that was open on Monday. 1. China Coal Museum, CNY 60 2. Shanxi Art Museum 3. Xinhua Nan Gong Bookstore A bookstore with a great environment. You can get a free stamp and there are cultural and creative products. The first three attractions are on the same road, one bus stop apart, one latitude apart. 4. It introduces the history of various cars after the founding of the People's Republic of China. 7. Dinner at Intime Time New World nearby The first floor is full of various snacks and delicacies. 8. Shanxi Bronze Museum, free admission Next to Taiyuan Museum 3. Shanxi Science and Technology Museum nearby Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I didn't go. 4. Lunch and shopping at Taiyuan MixC nearby 5. Shanxi Library, a good place to rest in the afternoon 6. Taiyuan Art Museum, next to the library, with 5 exhibition halls 7. Dinner and a sauna Day 3 1. Jin Shang Museum, directly accessible by Metro Line 2, 5 stops, 25 minutes from the hotel. Formerly the Governor's Office, it includes the Shanxi Provincial Government Office Museum. 2. Lunch at Bell Tower Street Pedestrian Street, a famous commercial street in Taiyuan with many local snacks 3. A newly opened Wukong-themed cultural and creative store near Bell Tower Street, under Shanxi Cultural Tourism, highly recommended by Black Wukong. 4. Chunyang Palace, also known as Shanxi Ancient Architecture Museum, a famous Taoist palace, CNY 30. Next to May Day Square, a landmark, Shouyi Gate. 6. Shanxi Ancient Architecture Museum, also the site of the Confucian Temple, a relatively unpopular museum. 7. Northern Qi Dynasty Mural Museum, completed in December 2023, free admission, closed on Mondays. Day 4 1. Shanxi Sports Museum 2. Di Renjie Cultural Park, closed on Mondays, free admission 3. Twin Pagoda Temple, Twin Pagoda Museum 4. If you have time, I recommend Taiyuan Botanical Garden, CNY 30 in the off-season, CNY 50 in the peak season.
