Located near to Mount Kazbegi, 2200 meters above sea level the view at the church is magnificent. If you’re planning to visit here for a quick getaway from Tbilisi city, its advisable to take a day tour because they will stop by few other places that considered as must visit in Georgia like Ananuri Fortress and Russia-Georgia Friendship monument. They can also drop you in Gergeti village if you’re planning to stay for few days. If you keen to drive from Tbilisi it will take around 4 hours but you have to be an expert of driving as the road is full with lorry and sometimes sheep too.
