Most beautiful castle in Sintra!

The National Palace of Pena is definitely the most picturesque castle in Sintra, and a definite must-see. The castle walls are bright and colourful, with beautiful views across the countryside. It's easy to walk there, with a beautiful route through the surrounding forest. Personally I don't think it's worthwhile paying to go inside the palace itself. Just get the garden-only ticket (about half the price) and you can enjoy both the gardens and the outer parts of the castle. This includes a lot of inner courtyard parts of the castle too - everything you can see in my photos was included in the garden-only ticket. #sintra #portugal
