Steve Jobs' favorite temple in Kyoto, hides the most Zen dry landscape in Japan

Ryoanji Hojo Garden is one of the most famous gardens in Kyoto. Compared with other temples in Kyoto that are famous domestically, Ryoanji is not very famous, but it is synonymous with Japanese gardens in the world. Not only is it a world heritage site, but it also has the most famous dry landscape in Japan. In history, Toyotomi Hideyoshi also held a flower viewing banquet in Ryoanji, and it is one of Steve Jobs' favorite places in Kyoto. The dry landscape garden of Ryoanji is said to have been built in the late Muromachi period (around 1500) by the highly respected Zen master Tofu Zenjie. The 15 rocks in the garden are cleverly placed so that visitors cannot see one of the rocks no matter where they stand, and can only see 14 rocks. It seems to be placed at will, but the combination of stones is carefully designed and laid out, and is regarded as a representative of the golden ratio in aesthetics. It seems that only through Zen meditation can you gain enough spiritual inspiration to see through the complexity and vanity and see the complete 15 stones from the heart.
