Kutaisi State Historical Museum | A must-visit museum in the small town of Kutaisi.

When traveling to a city, if you have time, you must visit the local museum 🏛️ to learn about the local history and culture. In Georgia, we had a short stopover in Kutaisi and made a special trip to their history museum. 🏛️Kutaisi State Historical Museum 📍Address: Located on Tsereteli St, not far from Colchis Fountain 🎫Tickets: 6 lari/person, 2 lari for students, free for preschool children 🕙Opening hours: 10:00-18:00 ✅The museum is not large, with two floors, and the main exhibition area is on the second floor ✅At the spiral staircase on the first and second floors, there is a beautiful mural (replica, the original is in the ⛪️ Gelati Monastery) of the founder 👑 David IV holding the church, which led Georgia in crisis to a golden age ✅There are two exhibition halls on the second floor, mainly displaying cultural relics unearthed in Kutaisi (stone tools, pottery 🏺, coins, bronzes) and past life items (clothing, weapons ⚔️, hunting tools) ✅The most important collections in the museum include exquisite gold Christian icons and books 📚 written in Georgian, one of which is very mini and cute ✅In addition to the exhibits, the museum also restores a past 👨 residential life scene, and there are old photos 📷, etc., where you can see the past appearance and development of Kutaisi ✅There are a few exhibits on the first floor, such as wooden troughs for making wine 🍷, etc. ⭕️Other 1️⃣The museum is not large overall, and the visit takes about 40 minutes 2️⃣There are also white bridges 🌉, Colchis fountains ⛲️, etc. around the museum, which can be arranged for a visit
