Ancient cypress forest, the horse-blocking wall on the old Shu path

Despite most of the Jianmen Shu path being destroyed during the construction of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Highway, fortunately, the section from Liangshan Township to Puan on the ancient cypress-lined Shu path has been preserved. Among them, the horse-blocking wall section is particularly scenic. The ancient cypresses here are as dense as those in the Cuiyun Corridor, and the 'Zhuangyuan Cypress' was even planted during the Qin Dynasty, exuding an ancient charm. Moreover, with fewer tourists, it's even more serene. Hiking route: After parking at the parking lot at the entrance of the horse-blocking wall on the Shu path, you step directly onto the ancient cypress-lined bluestone path. Walking downhill for a few hundred meters, you reach the large bluestone-built horse-blocking wall. In ancient times, to prevent horses from falling, people built a low wall about 1m high with huge stones at dangerous parts of the road to remind riders to be cautious. This section is the only remaining protective wall in the 300-li Jinniu Shu path, hence the name. Walking about 1.5km, you will reach the horse-blocking wall station, where you can rest. The following stone path is even more primitive. Continue walking for 30 minutes, passing by an ancient well, a horse-tying stone, and a long flight of stairs, you will reach the Shishoudun Bridge, also known as Qingliang Bridge, which was rebuilt during the Kangxi period. Unfortunately, the stone beasts at both ends of the bridge have been severely damaged, and the cypress trees gradually disappear here. After crossing the bridge, you will see Qingliang Village. Before even approaching, the barking of dogs in the village is incessant, so we decided to return the same way. The round-trip hiking distance is 5.2km, requiring 2.5 hours. Hiking tips: Carry a walking stick, which not only provides support but also protection. In the summer, there are many mosquitoes in the countryside, so bring mosquito repellent. Transportation tips: The entrance to the horse-blocking wall on the Shu path is 1.5km from Liangshan Township in Jiange County. You can directly navigate to 'Pre-Qin Ancient Shu Path,' or take a bus to Liangshan Township and then walk to the hiking entrance. - There is no admission fee, only a 10 yuan parking fee.
