Shanghai - Tianzhu Mountain Hiking 1.5-Day Guide West Entry East Exit Route

Little Huangshan and Ancient Nanyue live up to their reputation, with strange peaks and unique stones, like a painting. This trip was worthwhile. Before setting off, I copied the route map and now share this report for reference. Major transport: Shanghai - Qianshan G3120, Qianshan - Hongqiao G7494 Local transport: Carpool between scenic spots and stations Stayed the night before near the South Gate in a guesthouse. Started hiking around 7:50 AM, passing Zhenyigang - Mysterious Valley - Tianzhu Peak - Qinglongbei - Xiguan Village - Lotus Peak - Liandan Lake, then heading towards Dadongguan via Echo Terrace - Yangguan Three Tiers - Queqiao (Glass Plank Road). Took the Longtan River cableway down at 1:15 PM. The whole route is about 12 kilometers, with about five and a half hours including breaks and photos. The attractions are quite dense, and the steep slopes are mostly on the descent, making it relatively easy. Trip log as follows 📝 7:50 South Gate (actually arrived at 7 AM, but the off-season opening was late, so I waited again at the gate) 8:20 Tianwa Peak Before Tianwa Peak, there is a fork; going right leads to Tianwa Peak, but no path beyond, so you must return the same way 9:07 Zhenyigang, cableway lower station 9:25 Tongtian Valley 9:40 Mysterious Valley, these two sections of giant rock fissures are very impressive 10:20 Tianzhu Peak Met a security group nearby who said to wait a bit for photos, which was disappointing 10:45 Qinglongbei 11:05 Chaotian Steps Then started descending 11:50 Liandan Lake, continued uphill 12:30 East Gate Echo Terrace 12:45 Yangguan Three Tiers 12:55 Tianshi Peak 13:05 Glass Plank Road 13:15 Longtan River Cableway It’s hard to get a taxi after taking the Longtan River cableway, but luckily shared a ride with a taxi dropping off guests and an uncle heading to the high-speed rail station. About an hour to the station 🚄 Arrived back at Hongqiao Railway Station at 7:30 PM. A special forces-style day trip is totally doable~ A few small tips: 1️⃣ There are many vending machines on the mountain, but some areas have no signal, so bring some drinks and food 2️⃣ It’s cold recently, wear gloves; keeping fingertips warm is very helpful
