Night Adventure

Readers might’ve notice we are quite an active family. We love outdoors activities. Be it the ocean, the beach, playgrounds and parks, farms, hiking at different trails. I always wanted to do a night hike, or some late evening adventures but my kids sleeps early, so we rarely have night activities. Finally got the opportunity ! I saw this family activity - Night Adventure Walk tour and sign up right away knowing the tour guide is a nature-lover William. He impressed me with his knowledge of the nature livings few years back when I took K to join his day camp to explore the mangroves, swamp and playing with hays ! He is knowledgeable, he speaks both Cantonese and English, he is patient, and he really love and respect the nature, he is not something you see often, especially in Hong Kong. I do hope there’s more of him, there’s more of these activities that’s led by true nature lover, nothing too commercial. On a Saturday evening, we meet up at the starting point of the Pineapple Dam trail approx 6pm, and the walk begins 15 mins later after briefing and final preparation. This is an amazing adventure for our family. We’ve been to this place, it’s a short trail, approx 1.5 km, but it’s a totally different experience. We see, we feel, we smell, we hear, we touch. At last, the tour overrun and took us over 3 hours to get back to the starting point. My personal favourite is when we close our eyes and listen to the surroundings. It’s so peaceful but not quiet, when you listen to the nature, it’s lively ! It’s bustling with noises of different things. Kids had much fun spotting insects, seeing fireflies, hugging trees, smelling leaves, using their headlights to find the night lives around them.
