While the alhambra palace is the main highlight of a Granada tour for most tourists. I, having stayed and experienced much more in the form of day trips and other sights in town, would even recommend alhambra for a longer than the usual night or two. For instance, you should definitely visit St. Nicholas, it gives an amazing view of the city and one of the most romantic sites in Europe. How would you like to see a flamenco show inside a cave? Yes, I did that in Granada. Walk through the hills opposite the Alhambra. This gives stunning views of the moorish castle and surrounding areas. Also, these hills have some beautiful little streets, and tiny little plazas with tapas bars, street musicians and dogs.You could fall in love with Spain walking through these hills, and the best place to be at sunset, is right at the top. Lastly, Granada's location allows you the luxury of easy access to rest of Andalusia.
