The starting town for a boat tour of the Sognefjord

Flåm is located at the very end of the Aurlandsfjord, a branch of the Sognefjord, and is a tourist hub for the Sognefjord. The town has a population of less than 400, but attracts 400,000 tourists from around the world each year. This is because the town is also the starting point of the world-famous Flåm Railway, a mountain railway, and an important part of the 'Norway in a Nutshell' tour, making the town renowned.
