A colorful Nordic city

#myhiddengems No doubt Scandinavia and the Nordic areas are all very beautiful. They are beyond unique and offer a distinct European experience. Some would not even call it European. They're never light on the pocket though. This is the reason why I have done several Nordic destinations, all in bits and pieces, shorter stays and thankfully on some cheapest flights available. Bergen is once such beautiful destinations. I am very fascinated by those colorful houses/architecture you can find in several Scandinavian countries. Bergen being the second largest city in Norway, offers that and much more for the eyes. Mostly cold, but I have been told locals that it is still very mild compared to a lot of other destinations in this part of the world. The very fascinating long summer days go an extra mile here. Duringna trip there in June, I found the sun rising in the wee hours ( 4 am'ish) and then not sitting till it's midnight. You cannot imagine how long but nice the days feel! Places to eat, drink and party surprisingly stay open till very late. Twice I have expericned them past 3am. The people were very friendly and threw I such insightful tips. Hiking is particular was great around Bergen. The friends I made even joined me and being around locals completely changes the quality of your holidays. I found the food to be amusing and the scenery stunning in every experience.
