Bayannur Geological Museum | A gem enthusiast's delight

The Bayannur Geological Museum is located in the Linhe New District on the west side of Hetao Park Road. It officially opened to the public in July 2011 and is the first geological museum in Bayannur City. 🌟Highlights: The museum has three floors with a construction area of 3,000 square meters and an exhibition area of 5,000 square meters. The exhibition halls are divided by floor into three main themes: the first floor is the Ancient Bayannur Exhibition Hall; the second floor is the Beautiful Bayannur Exhibition Hall; the third floor is the Rich Bayannur Exhibition Hall. ✅Must Experience: Dinosaur Kingdom Exhibition Hall: The display cases contain dinosaur fossils excavated from the Bayan Manduhu Dinosaur Fossil Park in Wulatehouqi. Bayan Manduhu Dinosaur Fossil Park is one of the most important and largest Late Cretaceous dinosaur fossil sites in China and even Central Asia. It is known as a treasure trove of dinosaur fossils and has been designated as a 'Key Dinosaur Fossil Protection Area' by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In the southeast corner of the first-floor exhibition hall is the Geological Museum's 4D dynamic cinema. Second Floor Interstellar Exhibition Hall: There are graphic introductions to the sun and its eight major planets in the solar system. Here, you can also learn about the entire process from Earth's birth 4.6 billion years ago to the fifth mass extinction entering the Cenozoic era, with the climate changing from hot to cold, the oceans shrinking, the appearance of monocotyledonous plants and primates, and humans stepping onto the stage of history. Mineral Resources Exhibition Hall There are ornamental stones unique to Inner Mongolia, such as Gobi stones and Yinshan snow jade. The mineral resources sand table displays the important mineral resource distribution points in our city, represented by twinkling colored lights, visually showing that the mineral resources are mainly concentrated in the Yinshan Mountains. Bayannur City is rich in mineral resources, with abundant reserves, concentrated distribution, high grade, and easy to mine. The vast majority of the deposits are concentrated in the five mining areas of Huoqiqi, Obrag, Dongshengmiao, Tanyao Mouth, and Jiasheng Pan.
