Patriotic education 🫡, Anıtkabir.

Anıtkabir is the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founding father of modern Turkey. The site is vast, serving as a recreational space for locals and a must-visit attraction for tourists.     Mustafa Kemal Atatürk passed away in 1938. He led the Turkish people in overthrowing the Ottoman Empire, establishing the Republic of Turkey, and becoming its first president. He also established Turkey's secular political system. Due to his outstanding contributions, the Turkish Grand National Assembly awarded him the honorary title of "Atatürk" (Father of the Turks) in 1934. To honor this great national leader, Turkey built a grand mausoleum, which began construction in 1944 and was completed in 1953. The architectural style is solemn yet beautiful. The main building of the mausoleum includes Atatürk's tomb and a colonnade and Victory Square composed of ten towers named "Freedom," "Independence," and others. The entire mausoleum is majestic and awe-inspiring.     After walking along the long Lion Road in front of the twin towers, you enter the main mausoleum. The entire complex is surrounded by four colonnades on the east, west, south, and north, forming a large square. The front is the "Hall of Honor," where Atatürk's tomb is located. The four colonnades display Atatürk's relics, portraits, documents, and more. The solemn mausoleum area is guarded by soldiers, and if you happen to witness the changing of the guard, you can enjoy a rifle drill performance.
