Lake Annecy (Lac d’Annecy) is renowned as the clearest lake in France. The lake's water comes from the melting snow of the Alps, shimmering a bright green under the sunlight. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the train station to the Castle Square. A loop around the old town can be done in an hour, but if you want to take your time, it might take half a day. It's an ideal place for a day trip. There are many restaurants and shops around.
