Cherating travel guide and discussion

#summerbeachnights Looking for a quick getaway in Cherating? We spent one night at Villa de Fedelia and overall, it was a pleasant and relaxing stay. The villa has a cozy, laid-back atmosphere that makes it easy to switch off from the usual busy routine. The location is convenient if you’re looking to explore Cherating and its surrounding attractions, while still having a quiet place to come back to after a day out. The room was comfortable enough for a one-night stay, with the basic amenities needed for a short getaway. We especially enjoyed the relaxed setting, which gave the stay more of a holiday-home feel rather than a typical hotel experience. It’s the kind of place where you can simply slow down, rest, and enjoy your time without having to rush through an itinerary. The overall experience was pretty straightforward and hassle-free. Check-in was easy, and the stay felt comfortable from start to finish. For a short trip, especially if you’re spending most of your time exploring Cherating, Villa de Fedelia makes a decent base. Of course, there’s always room for improvement, particularly if you’re expecting a more polished or luxurious resort experience. But for a one-night escape, the villa delivered what we needed: a comfortable place to rest, a relaxing atmosphere, and a convenient stay in Cherating. Would consider staying here again for another quick getaway. 🌊✨

#watersports #100waysoftravel #surfing Cherating Beach is one of Malaysia's most popular spots for surfing, attracting both locals and tourists. Known for its gentle, consistent waves, Cherating is ideal for beginners looking to learn the basics without the challenge of powerful surf. The beach's sandy bottom and mellow breaks create a safe environment, allowing newcomers to focus on balance and technique. Sunrise is the best time to hit the waves, as the early morning light casts a golden glow over the water, and you’ll often have the beach entirely to yourself. The calm atmosphere and scenic beauty make Cherating a unique surf destination that combines relaxation with a great starting point for water sports.

Love this place due to the direct access to the beach. The room is comfortable and clean, but I think its time to update some of the stuff inside the room. I wish the breakfast is better but i guess its fair as the price is reasonable. Overall is great place for vacation, you get what’s you pay.Room is nice with . Near to beach & enjoy ourself with the activities available. Great place to come with family #awesomepic #couplestrip #deliciousfood #mytripvlog #tripblazers

#newyearadventure Hidden gem in the woods by the beach. Resort crew are wonderful, units were tastefully designed. Only let down was the wave breakers along the beach, but you can still get some beach action towards the end of the resort at the clubhouse side. Food is great, especially the nasi lemak for breakfast. Milkshakes need a bit more of thickness. There's buggy to help you with luggages when check in and check out but other than that, walking around the resort is a calming experience. Good huge bedding as well! Perfect for honeymooners. #MyTripVlog #2023TravelWish #tripblazers #newyearadventure #yearofrabbit

Cherating in a nutshell 🌊🏝️

Tucked away along the sandy shores is Metawi Coastal Cafe, an unpretentious, rustic hideaway that feels like a hidden gem. With its vibrant pink wooden walls, a vintage yellow surfboard, and quirky "Bikers Stand" signage, this spot has a charm that big commercial resorts just can't replicate. Grab a seat under the shade sails, feel the sand between your toes, and dive into their Home Kitchen menu. Their Nasi Goreng Daging (RM12) or a basket of Cheesy Fries (RM12) tastes even better with a side of ocean breeze. It’s the perfect underrated stop for anyone looking to escape the hustle and truly slow down. 🌴✨ 📍 Metawi Coastal Cafe, Cherating #underratedspots

Tucked along the beautiful east coast of Pahang, Club Med Cherating is more than just a beach resort — it’s a place where tropical nature, ocean views and endless activities come together. Cherating is known for its laid-back coastal atmosphere, water sports and turtle conservation, while Club Med sits right in the middle of this beautiful setting. 🌴 My Experience The first thing I loved about Club Med Cherating was the feeling of being surrounded by nature. Instead of a typical city resort, the property blends into a lush tropical landscape, with greenery, walking paths and the South China Sea right beside it. The beach is perfect for slowing down, taking a long walk or simply sitting by the water and enjoying the sea breeze. What makes the stay special is that there is always something to do. From kayaking, sailing and paddle activities to tennis, archery, hiking and the famous flying trapeze, the resort offers plenty of ways to stay active. And when I wanted to do absolutely nothing, the beach and pool were more than enough. 🌊☀️ 🏖️ Things to Enjoy 🌊 Beach Time Spend a slow morning walking along the sandy beach, listening to the waves and enjoying the tropical scenery. ⛵ Water Activities Cherating is well known for its water sports. Depending on conditions, visitors can enjoy activities such as sailing, kayaking and paddle sports. 🏹 Try Something New Archery, tennis, hiking, climbing and flying trapeze add an adventurous side to the resort experience. 👨👩👧 Family Fun Club Med Cherating also has dedicated children's and teen activities, making it suitable for families looking for a holiday where different age groups can enjoy their own activities. 🐢 Discover Cherating's Nature Beyond the resort, Cherating is famous for its turtle conservation activities. Nearby Chendor Beach is known as a turtle-watching location during the nesting season. 🌅 The Best Part? For me, it’s the balance. You can spend the morning trying new activities, the afternoon relaxing beside the pool, and the evening watching the sky change colours over the South China Sea. No rushing. No complicated itinerary. Just sun, sea, nature and plenty of time to enjoy the moment. 🌴✨ 💡 Travel Tips · 🌴 Bring swimwear, sunscreen and comfortable sandals. · 🧴 Pack mosquito repellent if you plan to explore the greener areas. · 🌊 Sea activities can depend on weather and conditions. · 🐢 If turtle experiences are important to you, check the seasonal arrangements before travelling. · 🚗 Cherating is around 45–47 km north of Kuantan, and Tourism Malaysia lists the drive from Kuala Lumpur at roughly four hours depending on the route and traffic. · ✈️ From Kuantan Airport, Tourism Malaysia indicates Cherating is about 45 minutes away. ✨ Final Thoughts Club Med Cherating is the kind of place where you can be as adventurous or as lazy as you want. One moment you’re kayaking across the sea, and the next you’re lying under the palm trees doing absolutely nothing. For a tropical getaway in Malaysia, it’s a beautiful combination of nature, activities, family time and pure relaxation.🌴🌊☀️ Club Med Cherating — where the ocean sets the pace and every day feels like a holiday. 💙 #ClubMedCherating #Cherating #CheratingBeach #PahangTravel #MalaysiaTravel #ExploreMalaysia #VisitPahang #BeachResort #ClubMedMalaysia #TropicalGetaway #MalaysiaBeaches #EastCoastMalaysia #TravelInspiration

My husband and I had an incredible vacation—relaxing, refreshing, and festive. From start to finish, everything was perfect. The club is stunning, meticulously maintained, and flawlessly organized. The staff was polite, cheerful, and always greeted us warmly. Right from our arrival, welcomed by several GO members including the CDV, we felt special. The main pool and the Zen pool offered two different vibes, both delightful. The main restaurant provided an extensive buffet with diverse options—Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indian, French, and Italian cuisines. The specialty restaurant with à la carte service was equally worth visiting. The White Night was phenomenal, and the shows were entertaining. A big shoutout to Chloé, the "Miss Energy" of the team. Special acknowledgments go to: · Patrizio, the CDV, for his constant presence, energy, and kindness. · Julia, the first staff member we met, whose smile is unforgettable. · Mahmed (Toni), a calm and composed force, a lovely surprise to meet again after Cherating. · The excursion GO team, including Paul, Jasmine, and Jess, who gave great advice and were present throughout our stay. · Louisa and Emilio from the boutique, who introduced us to a fantastic bar near the club. · Emré from sports, for interesting conversations and his welcoming demeanor. · Carlos and Su in the restaurants, who were always smiling and kind. · Cherif, the sommelier, with his contagious humor and positive energy. · Kan and Sophie at the spa. · Bartenders like Etienne, David, Bank, Kate, Yumi, Benz, Max, and Saipan—making the main bar the "place to be." · JJ for yoga classes. · Jang for Thai cooking lessons. · Daniel, the guitarist and singer, who created magical moments. We must also thank the chef from France (whose name I've forgotten) and the diligent housekeeping staff for keeping our room impeccable. My heart is full of gratitude for all the GOs we shared moments with—Avi, Bakari, Alfonse, Jina, Sinjai, Ayoub, Fabrice, Zidane, and more. This vacation will forever be etched in my heart—I even shed a tear while leaving the club. Thank you!

#summerinonecut Swap the city noise for the sound of rolling waves. Welcome to Cherating Beach — a laid-back paradise on Pahang’s coast, just a 3-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. Find your spot on the golden sand, watch the fishing boats drift by, and let the sea breeze melt your stress away. This is slow living at its finest. ☀️ And the coconut? It’s practically a Cherating ritual. Grab a fresh coconut from a beachside stall, beat to cool off summer heat. Whether you’re here for the surf (November–March), the turtle sanctuaries, or simply to lounge under the coconut palms with a cold drink in hand, Cherating delivers pure tropical bliss. 👇 Tag your beach buddy and start planning. #tripcom #cherating #pantaicherating #beachvibes #coconutwater #summerrelaxation #pahang #malaysiatravel #islandlife #vacationmode #beachtherapy

If you’re looking for a straightforward, no-fuss place to crash in Cherating, Sunday Residence Inn (formerly Residence Inn Cherating) delivers on the essentials — though it comes with a few caveats. Here’s my take after a recent stay. The Good: Space, Comfort & Convenience The rooms here are genuinely spacious — a definite highlight. The beds are large, one kid can sleep comfortably together and having a private balcony is a nice touch for enjoying the evening breeze. The swimming pool in the middle of the property is another plus. Location is also a win. The hotel is within walking distance to the beach (about 5 minutes) and close to local dining spots. The area is quiet with beautiful scenery — ideal if you're after peace and relaxation. Plus, hotel provides free buggy service from hotel to beach if you prefer not to walk. The Not-So-Good: Dated & Tired Let's be honest — this hotel is old and clearly hasn't been renovated in a while. Final Verdict For a no fuss stay, the large room, big bed, balcony, pool, and buggy service are genuine perks. A solid choice for under RM200 stay in Cherating.

Travel period: August 2025 Peak season: No (If you prefer less crowd in the Cherating area, will recommend to go off peak. But some of the restaurants and facilities are not open during off peak, at least that’s what I experienced when I was there) Stay: Royale Chulan Cherating Chalet (Very nice chalet, straight access to the beach. Second picture was taken there) Itinerary: (it’s a chill itinerary for recharge purpose) - all booked through Cherating Fireflies Sanctuary 1. Mangrove discovery at 4pm · recommended · there’s a guide to explain everything related to mangrove, explore the river and the animals beside the rivers together with us · first picture was taken there when we were inside one of the river streams 2. Firefly watching at night at 8pm · recommended · the owner was really expert in calling the fireflies over to our boat · some of the fireflies rested on my palm and I could observe them so closely 3. Turtle watching at night at 9pm · recommended if you have the patience to wait at least 1 hour or more · highly dependent on luck · there’s a group of experienced guide to brief us on the do’s and don’ts #cuticutimalaysia

A hidden gem in Cherating, Villa de Fedelia is a charming chalet-style stay that offers a peaceful escape from the usual tourist crowds. Its biggest highlight is the beautiful panoramic view overlooking Cherating Beach, especially during sunrise and sunset. The relaxed atmosphere makes it ideal for travellers looking for a quiet seaside retreat, while the natural surroundings add to its laid-back charm. It may be underrated compared with bigger resorts, but that is exactly what makes it special—a simple place to slow down, enjoy the ocean breeze and appreciate Cherating’s coastal beauty.

This isn’t a luxury resort, but if you’re after peace, comfort, and a unique nature stay, The Dahan Cherating is a great choice. My honest review? Peaceful atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and a stay that feels close to nature. I’d definitely come back 🌳

If you are looking for a place where your body and mind can truly slow down, I have to share this hidden gem in Baroque, Pahang, Malaysia—the Kasturi. Ranked No. 1 on Kuantan’s scenic hotel list, it takes the meaning of a secluded getaway to the next level. Designer hotel with a private luxury vibe As a stylish designer hotel, the Kasturi perfectly blends architecture with nature. What surprised me most was the forest villa series—open the door and you’re surrounded by greenery. Even better, some rooms and villas come with private soaking tubs! Soaking in a bath in a private space while watching the shadows of trees outside is exactly what a vacation should feel like. A paradise for water lovers Besides private soaking tubs, the hotel offers both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Whether it’s blazing sun or occasional rain outside, you can jump into the water anytime to cool off. If you enjoy activity, try beach volleyball or work up a sweat in the gym. Rooms: comfort in the details I stayed in a room with a separate living area and balcony, which was very spacious. The blackout curtains, air conditioning, minibar, even bathrobes and hairdryer were all thoughtfully prepared. Every morning, opening the curtains or sitting on the terrace to daydream brings a deep, addictive sense of relaxation. Dining: satisfying your taste buds from morning to night The hotel’s restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, including a hearty breakfast and options for different dietary needs (including halal). If you don’t want to go out, room service lets you enjoy delicious food in your pajamas. In the evening, you can visit the hotel bar, order a signature cocktail, and chat with your travel companion for a great atmosphere. Spa and butler service: feel truly pampered What’s a vacation without a spa? The hotel’s massage rooms and spa center are definitely worth experiencing. A professional body treatment instantly melts away travel fatigue. Also, I have to praise the butler and front desk teams! From quick check-in and luggage storage to booking attraction tickets, arranging taxis to Cherating, and even laundry and dry cleaning services, they truly respond to every request, so you only need to focus on enjoying yourself. Transportation and getting around The hotel offers free parking, so guests driving themselves have no worries. If driving isn’t convenient, the hotel can also help arrange taxis and other transport services, making it easy to explore nearby places like Cherating. In summary: If you want a vacation spot with great design, private space, complete facilities, and top-notch service, the Kasturi is definitely a must-add to your list. Here, you don’t need to rush your itinerary—you just need to give time to yourself. 🏨 The Kasturi The Kasturi [RoundNails] KM32.5, Jalan, Baroque
