Huai Plakang Temple @ Chiang Rai
“Wat Huai Plakang” is located in Rim Kok Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province. It is a beautiful temple with a large area. When you arrive at the temple, you will see a large white Guan Yin statue and a pagoda with outstanding architecture. It is a Chinese sculpture of the Bodhisattva Guan Yin (Guanyin Goddess) which is one of the largest in Thailand. It is approximately 79 meters high, equivalent to a 25-26-story building. You can take the elevator up to see the landscape of Chiang Rai.
To get to Wat Huai Plakang, you can take the route from Phahonyothin Road heading into Chiang Rai Province. Pass the King Mengrai the Great Monument Intersection, cross the Kok River Bridge, slow down when you get off the bridge, turn left at the traffic light to Ban Mai, Rim Kok Subdistrict, go straight until you reach the intersection, turn right to Mae Yao Subdistrict, drive for about 1 kilometer and look for the sign to Wat Huai Plakang, and you will reach your destination.
Another joy for everyone when entering the new year is making merit, worshiping Buddha, and relaxing and traveling with family to recharge your body and mind. It can be said that when your body and mind are happy, your life is bright and fresh, ready to receive new good things in life.

urge A small coffee shop full of quality
Address - 405/1 Ban Mae Lao Noi, Tha Sai, Mueang , Chiang Rai, Thailand, Chiang Rai
Atmosphere/Location - It is a small shop that is about 300 meters from the main road. You will see a clean white shop. When you enter the shop, there is not much space but it is decorated cutely and stylishly.
Highlights - There are not many menus here. There are a few desserts and beans to choose from. I ordered an iced latte and a dirty one. The quality is really good. It is so delicious that if I have the chance, I will definitely come back.
Average price per person - 60-120 baht
Score - 9/10

Awesome view of the valley & mountains with garden around cafe. Owner told that the whole place is a Life Museum “Back to Basics”, but name of Cafe in thai means “Grandfather’s Farm”.
No regrets visiting this place, need to walk down steep hill to get to the two story building that both floor have deck that you can sit and chill out taking panoramic view, this surely make you feel super cool.
This place has very organized, good trained staff. #tripblazers #foodie #adventure #chiangrai #thailand

CHIANGRAI 1 DAY
CHIANGRAI 1 DAY . 🏕
Eat and travel in 1 day back again (actually wanted to do it for many days but really only have this much free time 😅 )
Start the day with ..... Breakfast first (my stomach is growling 🤤 )
1. Yellow Car Coffee
"The first coffee car in Chiang Rai" This sentence is written on the side of the yellow car. Since I just woke up, I want to start the day with fried eggs, toast, pork rice soup and cold Ovaltine. The menu that impressed me was the fried eggs, very delicious 🍳
2. ARABIA COFFEE STORE
After finishing breakfast, drive out of the city a bit to come to this shop. Personally, I like the coffee here a lot. The taste is good. There are many beans to choose from according to your preference. If anyone comes to Chiang Rai, I recommend this shop. ❤️
3. Lilhouse Cafe
It is a coffee shop with white tones contrasting with wood, creating a rather warm mood. There are 2 floors of seating inside the shop and there are also outdoor seating areas around the shop. This shop is very beautiful for taking pictures. The light is very good. Anyone who likes taking pictures must not miss it!! 📷
4. Baan Doi Din Daeng Ceramic Shop
Those who love ceramics and craft works should come and visit the various items here. There is a showroom to display products for you to choose from. The prices are also good compared to the products. 🍶
5. Ahsa Farm Stay
I have been to many places and I started to feel hungry. It was time for lunch. When I arrived, I looked at the menu and ordered. While waiting for the food, the staff let me go for a walk and wait. I walked along the rice fields to see the houses, which had a great atmosphere. If I have the chance, I must stay here at least once. I didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive. I must say that the food was very delicious and the portions were large.
6. Suan Khun Pu (Life Museum)
This is a coffee shop on a hill (the road is quite steep, cars can go up). When I arrived, I must say that the view of the shop was very good. Since the shop is on a hill, the air was also very good. I sat down, ordered coffee, cake, and just sat there and enjoyed myself (really chilling).
7. Natsu Izakaya
We arrived at our last meal of the day. The shop had a lot of food. The ones I ordered and liked the most were the grilled wagyu beef that the shop recommended. It was delicious and not tough. Another menu that I liked was the grilled shrimp with salt.
8. SMALLTOWN
After dinner, Then find a place to chill nearby (you can walk from Natsu). This shop just opened. It has 2 floors and is air-conditioned. It is quite open, comfortable, and not crowded. For those who want to come and sit and talk, sip drinks, I recommend it.

The homestay is located on a mountain peak surrounded by hills, with friendly cats serving as staff to entertain guests. Amenities include soap, shampoo, towels, a water heater, a fan, parking, and two meals (breakfast and dinner) along with drip coffee for all guests. Heritage Hotel during Flooding in Chiang Rai
I have stayed in over 10 hotels in Chiang Rai 4 and 5 stars
Cons of this hotel
Slightly out of the way if no car and no shuttle bus service into the Centre of town. Not walkable. They will call a taxi or Chuk Chuk
As a car driver not a problem easy access to town center
Quite near to Central Plaza and Bic C a bit of a walk dependent on fitness
Water pressure not stable so take care as hot
Restaurant menu (except breakfast) is limited
Pros
Very helpful staff, understanding and flexible as needed to book on daily basis waiting for the flood waters to recede. To note Hotel rate was sometimes cheaper than Trip.com!!
Plenty of parking
Rooms size good + Air con OK + clean. The hotel is not new, but the renovation work was of high standard
All basic amities including toothbrush and slippers (no hair conditioner) + free bottled water daily
TV channels limited has Discovery + news, no movies in English, children channel. 2 Chinese news channels Better than most local hotels
Breakfast the best in all the 4-star hotels I have stayed in, menus are rotated food for all tastes, European, Chinese and Tai.
Tea is not Lipton floating in a water jug but not tea bags and a pot. Coffee is OK

1055 Brewing at corner
#songkran2024
In the heart of Chiang Rai, amidst the bustling streets and colorful markets, there stood a hidden gem known as "Brewing at Corner Cafe." Tucked away on a quiet street corner, this cozy café exuded an irresistible charm that drew visitors from far and wide.
As the sun rose over the city, casting its golden glow upon the cobblestone streets, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee drifted from the café's open doors, enticing passersby to step inside. The interior was a delightful blend of rustic elegance and modern comfort, with plush armchairs, weathered wooden tables, and shelves lined with vintage coffee paraphernalia.
At Brewing at Corner Cafe, the menu boasted an impressive selection of specialty coffees sourced from the finest beans around the world. From rich and robust espressos to creamy lattes and velvety cappuccinos, there was a brew to suit every taste and preference.

Chasing colours at Chiang Rai
Chiang Rai is known for its White Temple, Blue Temple and Black House i.e. Baan Dam Museum). A good destination within Thailand to appreciate art, architecture, culture and spirituality during the school holidays. The best part is that these buildings are close by and can all be covered within half the day. It's recommended to start with the White Temple as early in the morning because it draws in the most crowd.

🧚🏻♀️ Charoen Chai Province, famous rice soup shop @Chiang Rai 🧚🏻
🧚🏻♀️ J. Charoen Chai, a famous rice porridge shop @ Chiang Rai 🧚🏻♀️ This is an old rice porridge shop that has been open for more than 40 years and is well-known to tourists who visit Chiang Rai. The shop is easy to find in the city center near the clock tower roundabout. 🥰 Every dish here tastes delicious. The signature menu of the shop that almost every table orders is the stir-fried eggplant, which is soft and delicious, braised pork intestines, sweet bitter melon shoot salad, stir-fried preserved plums, and a must-have for rice porridge shops is stir-fried morning glory with chili paste. Even though the menu is no different from other rice porridge shops, I always choose J. Charoen Chai every time I want to eat hot rice porridge and delicious stir-fried morning glory. 🥰 I recommend coming in the early evening because the shop will be very crowded. Sometimes you have to wait in line, but it's not long. The service here is fast and, most importantly, it's clean. It's true that the saying goes, "When you come to Chiang Rai, you must eat at J. Charoen Chai." 🥰🥰 #RecommendedRestaurants #RecommendedDeliciousRestaurant #DeliciousRestaurantChiangRai

The Blue Temple of Chiang Ria
Chiang Rai Blue Temple – Wat Rong Suea Ten
The Blue Temple is immediately recognizable for its brilliant shade of rich sapphire. The temple walls, roof, and surrounding statues are all covered in this gorgeous hue, an unusual decorative choice in a country where most temples are made of gold. This color is symbolically associated with purity, wisdom, and the lack of materialism that Buddhists aspire to.

Huai Plakang Temple, Chiang Rai
#Go to the temple to make merit. The large and beautiful Guan Yin statue is very impressive. You can also go up to the 25th floor to see the view. The elevator fee is 20 baht per person. The pagoda is also beautiful. There are Guan Yin statues and Buddha statues carved from wood on all 7 floors. The last floor has very narrow stairs. It would be difficult for fat people to go up and down. But you can see the view from all 8 directions.
The temple has beautiful stucco patterns. Inside the temple, it looks peaceful and cool. There are stucco patterns of the life of the Buddha around the walls in all 4 directions.
The atmosphere is just right because it is the rainy season. It is not hot and stuffy. The light is low, so the pictures may not be sharp. The staff provided very good service.
