Libelula Tulum Beachfront Hotel

This place is such a gem in the Tulum area. The location is so quaint and quietly removed from the busy beach *****, but all the clubs and restaurants and bars are just a walk down the beach or road. We rarely felt the need to get off the property though because the food, ambiance and beach club, had so much to offer throughout the day and evening. Though we did venture to town for some of the well known cuisine, but the food at Libelula was our favorite; the kitchen staff and the menu could not have been better. By the end of our stay we tried nearly everything on the menu and it was all fantastic. All of the staff were immediately welcoming and friendly, I enjoyed many conversations with nearly every one of them I can’t wait to go back to visit our new friends.

Our stay at Libelula Hotel in Tulum was an incredible and magical experience. With my wife and two young children, we felt transported to the tranquil, authentic Tulum of over a decade ago. Far from the commercialized scene, this is a peaceful haven where every day feels like paradise. The food was extraordinary—some of the best we’ve ever had—healthy, delicious, and crafted with care. It made us feel as good as it tasted. The staff, led by the amazing Karla and Memo, made our experience unforgettable. From Karla’s warmth and attentiveness to the kindness and service from Jorge, Armando, the bar tender, the waiter, kitchen team, house keeping, security, everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. Their genuine joy and dedication were a highlight of our trip. Libelula is perfect for those seeking authenticity and serenity. If you’re looking for flashy, commercialized resorts, this isn’t it. But if you want a true slice of Tulum’s magic, this is the place. Thank you to everyone at Libelula—we already miss you and can’t wait to return!

Amazing! I rarely ever leave reviews but I felt like I had to because this place was so special. You’re super close to everything but you feel like you’re in own secret slice of paradise. The beach is flawless, the food is amazing, the staff really cares about you and it feels like you’re sleeping directly on the beach if you get the ocean front room. I couldn’t recommend it more. Give it a try!

Paradise perfect location separated from the noisy hotels, immerse in the Sian Kahn Reserve Libelula offers one of the best beaches, almost desert in September, very warm welcome, nice host, the room we got was much better than expected, worth every minute

Truly a magical place. The staff were kind, friendly and knowledgeable. The food and drinks were phenomenal. Libélula is also located on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach I’ve ever seen. It was such a lovely place that I almost don’t want to tell anyone else about it, because I hope to come back again and again and again.

A life changing experience I didn’t know I needed, but will forever be grateful I had. This isn’t a place for luxury seeking Americans. It's a place of refuge, where nature and thought provoking conversations elevate the true intentions of old world Tulum. Where your ideals will be questioned and unlikely friendships forged. Where yin-and-yang coworkers are more like your friends than paid staff. Jorge will show you the tough love you didn’t know needed and Armando will treat you like the precious baby you’ve always been, yet somehow forgot you were. All while sweet Sam will keep the libations flowing with a shy-smile. A place that Karla and her family created as a magical portal to the sea, curated to make you feel like you’ve entered an entirely different reality. Delicious in every way, from the mouthwatering food (the best I’ve had in all my trips to Mexico) to the salty beach bar and nightly Animal Spirit readings - it truly was a magical experience. It is a very special place, but not meant for everyone. If you feel drawn to a slower pace of life, where the sand and sea meet your soul, this place is for you.
