Urgent Complaint Regarding Unacceptable Housekeeping Standards： I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the housekeeping service during my recent stay at your hotel. The level of service I experienced was not only unsatisfactory but frankly unacceptable, and it raises serious concerns about your hotel’s operational standards. Firstly, I was informed that if I remained in my room between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, housekeeping would refuse to service the room. In such cases, they provided only a few bath towels and left me to manage the cleaning myself. This policy is highly unusual and inconvenient, and it reflects a deliberate avoidance of basic responsibilities. Secondly, your policy regarding bed-making is unreasonable. Housekeeping refuses to make the bed if there is any item on it, regardless of size. During my stay, a note was left claiming that my bed could not be made due to a “large suitcase.” In reality, there was only a small plastic bag weighing approximately 100 grams. When I raised this issue with the front desk, I was told that any object on the bed prevents them from making it, and the incorrect note was acknowledged but the bed still went unmade. Having stayed in over 30 hotels across Japan, I have never encountered such an inflexible and unprofessional approach. Numerous prior reviews also indicate persistent issues with cleanliness, yet it appears that no meaningful improvements have been made. Polite gestures such as bowing or nodding are meaningless if they are not accompanied by real action. It is clear that the hotel’s management has failed to instill a genuine service culture among staff. While I anticipate that a response to this complaint may include an apology, repeated apologies alone will not rectify these systemic issues. The hotel must take immediate, concrete steps to correct these deficiencies; otherwise, market forces will inevitably decide the hotel’s fate. I urge you to treat this complaint with the seriousness it deserves and implement genuine, lasting improvements to your housekeeping policies and service standards.
