I stayed in the suite at this hotel. It was a great and very comfortable stay. Everything about the suite was elegant and built for comfort. The hotel has a restaurant that makes delicious Yunnan inspired dishes. The yak stew and the potato dishes were especially good. The staff was nice and friendly although language presented a barrier. (Thankfully there are translation apps.). The pool was a little weird though. It's presented more like a pond in the middle of the hotel rooms. There seems to be only one access point to the pool and there is zero seating. Its rimmed by plants and trees. Very strange. But thats the only criticism of the hotel. Everything else meets and exceeds expectations of a hotel. And its within walking distance of the old town.

We had a really good experience during our checkin at the hotel. The manager, Vivian went to our bedroom to make sure we are comfortable. When we mentioned the weather was too dry, she got her staff to bring a humidifier for our room. The humidifier help us a lot. Our room had a beautiful mountain view. The next day, Vivian even gave us a late checkout for our hi speed train back to Kunming was at 4:15 pm. The best part was after touring Pudacuo National Park, we came back to the hotel at 2:30 pm and needed lunch for we were hungry before we catch the train back. The hotel restaurant chef has gone for his break. Vivian went to the extend of calling the chef back to cook for us. We had a good meal before we went to the train station. Her service was really incredible. Kudos to Vivian for making our stay in Shangri La so comfortable and meaningful! I would highly recommend staying at Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Shangri La.

We just finished hiking from Yubeng. At the hotel near the Shangri-La bus station, Songjian Yunyue provided a pick-up service and sent us to their homestay. The next day, they sent us to Shangri-La Airport. The service was very good. On the way, they introduced us a lot about Shangri-La and answered all our questions. As soon as we checked in, we received a welcome fruit plate, fresh green apples and plums. The accommodation facilities are very modern, with smart toilets, Xiaodu Xiaodu smart operation of curtains, music and lights, very good sanitary conditions, good lighting in the room, you can see Napahai (Napahai is across the road), the room also has a large bathtub, and the toiletries are of relatively good quality. If you book a room, you can use the electric donkey for free to travel around the lake. After checking out, there is also a souvenir: beef jerky, which is a surprise. Overall very satisfied. The hotel is well located, with few minutes we can reach the very centre of the old town. The room is spacious and has a floor heating which makes the room warm and cozy, the humidifier provided is useful as at night the air in the room tends to be quite dry. The owner is very nice, picked up us when we arrived at the east gate station. When we left, we asked for a drop off to the main bus station, he was away for picking up other guests, but he reimbursed our taxi fare. Although It is a smaller fee, it shows that they do care about the guest. Appreciate it!
