Hotels in Lujiazui Area, Shanghai

Stayed in Shanghai for work for 2 days in July 2024, hotel check in is located at 54th-ish floor of the building, with a nice waiting area, overseeing the Shanghai city. As the hotel is quite sizable, check in area could get a little crowded at times. Room was located on 81st floor of the hotel, and shortly after I stepped out the elevator - WOW. Timeless spiral design. Had to take some photos there and was worried I might drop my phone LOL. Once I stepped in my room, just another WOW. Overseeing the Shanghai city and was able to see the sunrise the next morning. The room itself is big and comfy. Booked a room with club access, which is located on 83rd floor and serves breakfast / afternoon tea. Quite surprised most of the guests were up early. It opens at 6:30am and by 7am, it was mostly occupied, luckily I went there early and able to grab a nice spot looking at the Oriental Pearl Tower. The hotel is located in the middle of where all the financial institutions’ head offices are, but it isn’t exactly near to the city where all the markets area. Highly recommend for people coming here for work, but may not as much for tourism.

The location is great, a few km away from the Centre of the business district and Chinas tallest building. I rode to the river on a public bicycle and it took less than 5 minutes. Along the river are many km of fantastic cycle and running paths with great views of the river and amazing buildings. You can get to the bund by taxi in about 15 minutes when it’s not rush hour traffic. Staff are very friendly, always offering water when we are in reception and being fruit to your room in the evening. Breakfast is great. I noticed some reviews complained about it not being western. This is China and there is a nice selection including tomatoes, toast, noodle dish, fried rice, cereals, sweet potatoes, vegetables, wonton soup boiled by a friendly lady, fried bread, ham, sausages and other options. If you can’t find something you like from this selection then I’m not sure what you are expecting. Rooms are clean and in good condition. For this price and location and service I’ll be back when I’m next in Shanghai, as I’ve already stayed twice.

Good location (near to two subway lines), very good breakfast. The room seems new but not enough furniture in it. Service doesn’t speak English at all, can be taff for check in and out and special requests. Can recommend for a city trip.

When we first arrived, it seemed as if the person helping us was having a bad evening, Anna, and she was taking it out on all of the people checking in including us. She was very impatient. That was our first impression. The hotel is over 20 years old so of course you can’t expect it to be something spectacular, but it’s very ordinary. Probably great for conferences and business trips, but it’s old, a little outdated, and the room is dirty… sheets are old, air con wreaks of mildew, and the corners of the room have piled up dirt in them. Some rooms have nice views, ours was ok nothing great. The room was on a higher floor so that was a plus. The breakfast is pretty good, traditional international breakfast, with many western and Asian dishes. The hotel pool was filthy, stuff floating inside of it that I couldn’t even begin to explain. Just know what you are paying for when you go.

I small hotel nearby to metro stations and main roads . Really great stay, even trough rooms are not very big, they are new (2024), location was quite and staff helpful ( just chinese, they don't speak English, but this is easy to handle). Breakfast is Chinese stile but not a problem if you have some experience in Asia. And for sure, one of the greatest part, was the cleaning. Booth public spaces and rooms were really clean, with a nice smell, the cleaning aunt was really careful about it. I was indeed impressed by it! The only bad thing was that people were smoking on rooms nearby mine, even trough it was non-smoking, but I know that it's a common problem in China, so I still give 5 stars to the hotel.

When it comes to accommodation the first thing I’ll check is about the negatives review of the host. But then I saw almost every hotels have a negative review! So I mean, no one is perfect right ! The next thing we do, we just go for the Pearl view one. My wife and I decided to stay in this hotel, man oh man, we’ve made the right choice. Everything is perfect. It worth the price so when you consider coming to China and looking for accommodation please check this place out! anyway thanks so much to Rosy, one of the receptionist who gave answers that’s helped a lot! Ps: gotta try their breakfast and afternoon tea set!

The hotel's location is fantastic, right above Pudong Avenue station which is served by two subway lines. The lobby is well furnished, there is a concierge for every need and a 24-hour reception. It is possible to leave luggage. Our room was clean, maybe a little old especially for the carpet, but it was large and the beds were very comfortable. The bottled water was always replaced every morning and there is a fridge in the room. There is no conditioner in the shower, but the shower jet is powerful as I like it. Separately we also had a large and elegant bathtub, all very nice. We did not have breakfast in the hotel because it was very expensive for 3 people; there are two cafes in the same block (they only sell coffee) or a bar of a famous American chain 300 meters away. A note of merit goes to the view on the tallest skyscrapers in Pudong from the window of the room, I will have that night show in my memory for the rest of my life. I would definitely return to this hotel on my next stay in Shanghai

amazing friendly staff, very welcoming and friendly, very happy with anniversary gifts received by the hotel and free room upgrade! facilities were generally pretty good, only issues were with the requirement for swimming caps in the swimming pool which i havent really seen elsewhere, and the toilets in the mens changing room were v dirty. apart from that, i would definitely stay here again, the room was amazing with a great view of the river and tv tower from the pool, and a pretty decent breakfast selection

Everything was just gorgeous- the service was amazing, polite, cheerful, efficient. The ambience was just what we needed after a long trip, and the amenities allowed us to relax and feel very welcomed and refreshed. Food and drinks were also at the Shangri-la standard of excellence that we have come to know and love.

I chose this hotel because it is within walking distances near pearl tower and it was cheaper by slight margin . It is fine if you are a solo traveler and want to explore nearby places and now going to spend much time in a room. But otherwise not recommending it, especially if you going to spend a lot of time in a room working or you are with your partner , especially new one . The room was very very small in addition WC walls were completely transparent. Immediately after checking room I asked for possible upgrade however staff told me that all rooms are similar size . But next day I saw some room doors open and they were significantly bigger than the one I have . I think hotel staff is nice and friendly however they don’t speak English that’s why they gave me answer like that . Benefits : * very long breakfast time 07-12. This is huge benefit for a person as me who usually skips it . * compared to standards in China window was sealed well and there was not much blowing to my head at night * Comfortable bed
